Giles asks why the First chose to strike now, an Beljoxa says that the opportunity has only just presented itself. Buffy's second resurrection somehow created an instability within the Slayer line, allowing the First to strike. But this is never explained. What ****ing imbalance? If the First's goal was to tip the scales between good and evil, and eliminate the Slayer line, the opportune time would have been when Buffy was still dead. It made no sense. -How the **** is it that normal humans and freshly activated Slayers managed to hold their own with the Turok-Hans in the Hellmouth? (If you want the actual answer, Joss Whedon himself stated in an interview that he was aware it was a massive plothole, given that Buffy fought only ONE just episodes prior and nearly died, but that he felt the message of the final episode was more important). I love Joss's writing, but that was just lazy. -Where the hell did the Seal of Danzalthar come from? The Hellmouth was opened in Season 1, and a giant demon came out of it, yet was no where to be seen in "Chosen". The Hellmouth opened again in Season 3, again with the giant demon, yet no Seal. Hellmouth was partially opened in Season 4, no Seal of Danzalthar, not to mention Buffy DOVE into the Hellmouth and fell a good 100-200 feet, yet never mentioned a giant cavern full of prehistoric vampires. -How is it that Sunnydale had abandoned Churches underground, an entire Sewer System which extended over the whole city, and the Initiative all UNDER GROUND, yet no one mentions a GIANT CAVERN? -The amulet Angel shows up with was the embodiment of the concept Deux Ex Machina. Not coherent in details. The season was a factual mythological mess. Coherent in that it was a consistent season. Every episode just kind of bled into the other. It didn't really have huge episodes like the other seasons and it wasn't really an emotional roller coaster. Its my least favorite season for all of the reasons that you mentioned. I also didn't like any of the potentials and could have cared less about them. Joss got lazy in the end, and it was tragic. The last season was also cheesy, and not in the good campy Buffy way. Like, the whole new school thing, and Spike in the basement. I almost stopped watching with the potentials. It was like we watched the incredible journey of Buffy for six whole years and these little girls show up and are good in a week. ⚯͛

She seemed like a normal bratty 14 year old to me. She was fine late Season 6 into Season 7. Thats the problem. She was so generic. I could literally predict every one of her lines. She got a lot better...but I still was not a fan of hers when she came onto the show. ⚯͛

The season was consistent in that the episodes all seemed to bleed into one another, with the exception of Conversations With Dead People. I attribute that to the fact 90% of the episodes took place in Buffy's house. 1 minute ago, GypsyBabe said: Thats the problem. She was so generic. I could literally predict every one of her lines. She was definitely no more annoying than Xander, who is probably my most hated character.

He lied to Buffy and told her Willow said to kick Angels ass, instead of telling her that she was going to re-ensoul him. All because he had a crush on Buffy and didn't want her to be with Angel. He was such an asshole. He sent Faith off to kill Angel in Season 3, even after Buffy said he was re-ensouled. He cheated on Cordelia. He treated Anya like ****. Left her at the altar...but then STILL WANTED TO DATE HER. I think a lot of people didn't like Tara because she was too wallflowerish. I liked her tho. This is true, but I don't think that Xander was propelled by purely selfish reasons. I think that he really loves Buffy and did those things not because he wants her, but because he wants her to be rid of him. Xander hates Angel, and rightfully so in a lot of ways. I just don't think that Xanders actions are purely because of jealousy. Lets remember that there are many times when he teams up with Angel. Xander was just an incredibly flawed character... What he did to Anya was SO STUPID. Oh my god. Again with the writing flaws. It was just such a generic, "Xander is the stereotypical 90s character who fears commitment role"... It was hard for me to forgive him after that, tbh. Tara was just boring. ⚯͛

Spike also built friendships and dynamics with other scoobies while Angel was mostly just there. He only interacted mostly with Willow outside of Buffy, and even then it wasn't such an obvious dynamic and about consistency of season 7 (i really wish i have more time to expound on this because what ill be typing is a severe understatement), i'm talking about how well they used recurring themes that isn't just applicable to one episode, not even just to certain subplots but to the entire arc as a whole, @GypsyBabe kinda mentioned some of it--you have great points on certain mythological inconsistencies, let me try to get on that later perhaps. But on the direction of the story: This is as "good or evil, which side are you on?" as you could get. Everybody and I mean everybody was tested. Anya was back to her vengeance game and was a full-on demon but in a time when being good was considered bad (as warned by Halfrek), she continued to play the good team despite suffering a massive setback and painful blow from her cursed and unfulfilled wedding. Buffy was tested because of her relationship with Spike, which the other scoobies questioned and called out. Giles was tested as a watcher who is now no longer able to rein in Buffy. Faith's rocky road to redemption is sent to trial. Andrew and Jonathan's loyalties were tested with the aftermath of Warren's actions. Jonathan died being good, Andrew lived being but but later on redeemed himself. Robin's introduction wasn't just so they could add another character, his backstory made actual sense and tied up well with how the First manipulated everybody around Buffy. Spike regaining his soul and actually playing good team whether or not Buffy reciprocated his feelings was an entire test Conversations with Dead People is one of the best episodes for me because not only does it use a storytelling structure that is unique to many other formulaic episodes, it was somewhat meta for focusing on different aspects of the show (Buffy=psychoanalyses, Dawn=supernatural/horror themes, Willow=drama/love, Spike=good vs evil), it also highlighted just how dangerous the First was, on how it could attack on several fronts and really highlighted the danger it posed. The reveal of all the built up of "From beneath you it devours" was so satisfying and threatening Quote Not "it". Me. Like how can you not like that? That episode really set up the entire season to be really epic in scale for me, and was a worthy step-up from all previous Big Bads. It's just so awesome. Luxe Ford 3,481
The only thing making a lasting impression on me with Buffy is how fukking great skin Angel had. I wetted several sheets with tears agonising about the cruelty of life. But then I learned about foundation so now all is well again. It cost me about $2000 and several years, but I'm finally confident! What happens in Luxe Ford stays in Luxe Ford

I got the iconic "The hardest thing in this world is to live in it" tattooed down my ribs and I met a lot of the cast at comic con over the years because im such a square.
