When innocent people I love have suffered and died because of degenerate reckless drivers who give no shit about their own lives, much less the lives of others, why is it shocking that I wish these people would lose the ability to harm themselves and others?

Don't start with the personal things. My cousin died because of a reckless car driver and so did the best friend of my mum.

Emotions should never play a role in juristitical decisions. Eye for eye- juristical decisions are outdated.
