NYT: Lady Gaga, the Flashy Provocateur, Battles Lady Gaga, the Raw Voice

i mean the setlist is random we all said that.

and what he's really saying is he feels like Gaga wants to be doing more of a stripped down vibe but still has her foot in the dance pop arena. Still, i think it's a bit too negative but he made some valid points and he's entitled to his (i'm sure you'll say "very wrong") opinion

So like... do they just want her to sit there and perform like Adele since she has a good voice? :awkney:

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

he is really awful as a journalist ... he hates nearly anyone female in one interview and say that lady gaga never has meaning in her songs (which might be true in telephne but..) and then say in a joanne review that her lyrics from before are way better even so he praised her ...

Somehow I agree with him at some points, as Gaga tends to conflict between the spectacle and the raw performance.

But still, the show is amazing and fantastic. And he can f*** off for that horrible review of Joanne.

A kii. The show has critical acclaim in Canada (even with a journalist who wasn't that fond of her, enjoyed the show) and yet the moment she comes to the U.S. The OGH come out to bash her tour. So sad. I wonder if casual readers genuinely believe these kind of reviews of biased, crass, and disjointed journalism. Imagine wanting Gaga to strip back everything that makes her a musical titan and then call her pseudo performance art. Girl bye.

And isn't the whole plot idea Gaga struggling with her two forms and trying to find herself, which is the basis behind the whole speech with Million Reasons? :oprah:

The first time I read this it sounded like he was just commenting on how weird it was to put Joanne in with her older hits, which I agreed with, but when I read this in more detail some of the language he used is so unnecessarily harsh :emma: why is he critiquing her career more than the actual show.

I think most of the audience would be disappointed if they were bring served a drawn out dive bar concert. That Joanne is such a big leap from her previous work was bound to be difficult when planning this tour, but from what I hear she made it work.

And one minus point for cheap journalism:

"That strangeness once gave her centrist disco-pop real teeth, but it has long since decayed".

*eyeroll*
