You'll end up just like Christina Aguilera - a card for 30 seconds features with male succesful rappers who want some kind of melodic chorus for the teens

That's actually sad considering Xtina's vocal abilities

Get over what sis  I'm just having a discussion about how Feels featuring Katy Perry is a hit. A hit during her downfall, wig!

I would not consider Feels that much of a hit

OT> I think people where turned off by her new look, it does not suit her right even if she is naturally a blonde.

Tbh if I play swish swish whilst looking at long dark haired Katy, I like the song a little more :toofunny: I just have this reaally bad stigma around her haircut and I don't know why

the song would bop so much harder if black hair Katy sang it

All the things you've listed definitely had an effect. There are usually multiple reasons for something going wrong. But I think it can all come down to her music simply not being good enough anymore. Her new stuff was bland and just didn't sound like typical Katy Perry music. Dr Luke's absence was evident on these tracks, they just didn't sound like her old style. And it was the old style that was popular. You can list all the reasons you want but ironically, so few people want to pinpoint the actual music. Also, Katy's getting older now. The only female aged 30 or older who's have mega success right now is Beyonce and that's because she's got a great marketing team, markets her music to the older crowd who are more likely to buy music and is making a kind of sound that connects with the public right now. Katy is not ticking any of those boxes currently and her age is one of her biggest factors right now. Right from the beginning, Katy's music has been aggressively marketed to kids and teens. As we all know, looking at any big boy/girl band craze, artists targeted at these demographics have a very short shelf life because while these age groups have slavish devotion, once this person is no longer considered cool, they're ditched. I'm a 90's kid, so I witnessed the rise and fall of Spice Girls, Britney, Xtina, and every boyband. The youth are very sheep-like with who they listen to. They can't stand to listen to someone who is generally considered uncool, even in secret. And Katy did too many things this era that were uncool. She got far too politically involved, her songs lost the massive hooks and soaring choruses that made them fun to dance to, she started taking herself way too seriously and she got an awful crop cut. Seriously, never underestimate how a haircut can ruin a pop career. Jessie J's career went down the pan immediately after she shaved her head and its never recovered. As close-minded as it is, we know that when people see such a haircut on a woman, they assume she's a lesbian or a feminazi or some kind of activist...and those things are considered icky or uncool by many. There's a reason why celebrity women don't keep short hair for long because their male fanbase are turned off and their female fanbase don't want to look like them anymore. Katy partly sold so much because of how hot she looked before. By cutting her hair, she lost all her sex appeal and thereby, took her selling power with it.

Isn't Feels a really big hit atm?

Seriously, I can't believe so many people are trying to say that Feels is successful because of her. Surely you've seen this situation before where there's a lot of people on a very successful song? There's usually a woman on it somewhere but it literally doesn't matter who it is because it's the men who are selling it. Remember that Pitbull song, Give Me Everything? That had Afrojack and Ne-Yo on it as well as an unknown artist called Nayer. That song was a big hit. Would you seriously try to claim that Nayer was the one selling it? No. Remember LMFAO's Party Rock Anthem? That featured Goonrock and Lauren Bennett. Would you say that Lauren was selling it? No. That new Louis Tomlinson song features Digital Farm Animals and Bebe Rexha. Is Bebe selling it? No. So why do you assume Katy's selling Feels? If she was responsible for selling it, her solo work would be doing a lot better right now. Xtina's music didn't start selling again when she had hits with features on songs with Maroon 5, Pitbull and Great Big World because she wasn't the one selling it. Either it's the male artists whose song it is or the music is simply bang on trend or both. The only exception to this rule would maybe be Rihanna's latest hits, This Is What You Came For and Wild Thoughts...but they were the songs of Calvin Harris, who has has been a big name DJ for years and DJ Khaled, who literally just had a big #1 hit before this one.

The cute thing is, I've seen several self-proclaimed kings/queens of tolerance and fierce oppossers of racism spout or be surrounded by friends that spout: ******, sandnigger, "bombing" jokes relating to muslims, dark skin color and smelling bad etc., in group chats or non-public places.

I'm talking about members from here.

Absolutely agree but i'll have to add sth. Rihanna had a top 5 with Love On The Brain with no video or a single promo spot. She's a huge force way bigger than Calvin Harris or Dj Khaled. The latter esp is popular now but will fade.

she is simply someone who lacks talent and is everything but interesting and A LOT of people noticed she is not worth your time and your money

when you take away the candy outfits and the colorful wigs you realized she is nothing but a normal girl whose voice, talent and stage presence is not what you'd expect from a singer/artist

She peaked too early, in this era anyone can come up with a hit single. Katy is the quintessential factory-made pop singer out there. I'm not saying I'm happy she's flopping but maybe she should've looked ahead of her career instead of living in the moment. Wigs and bubble gum radio songs will only get you so far before you're replaced with the new fad.

I still....to this day....find this to be one of the most ridiculously hilarious videos on the internet. :sharon:

Something about how her jumper rides up her asscrack and she is just hovering upside down the entire time and people keep trying to get her properly up in the air but she just keeps on getting rolled upside down. :sharon:

Like....you can tell she thought she was so hardcore and into it and then everyone is like not even into it that much and just trying to keep her from falling on the ground. :sharon:

And then you can tell she is realizing people aren't that into it and she just uncomfortably tries to hover back up but can't really. :sharon:

I am so tired of you guys saying she's flopping, the Witness sales weren't bad at all, her livestream was ICONIC and Swish Swish has been a hit so far :neyde:

You guys just want her to flop so bad that you convinced yourself that she is flopping basically

Babes ARTPOP has sold more copies than Witness. To be exact, her sales plummeted 88.8% in the first week.
