Dr. Luke demands Gaga testify & give up text messages connected to Kesha

A lot of people seem to be confused on the legal process at work here, so allow me to make a post on my interpretation of it. Not trying to sound like a know-it-all or anything, just trying to be helpful! 

Kesha sued Dr. Luke, claiming he assaulted her (which would break her contract with him/Kemosabe Records, hence the 'free Kesha' campaign). Because Kesha was vocal about this and got other celebrities to chime in with the 'Free Kesha!' stuff publicly, he is counter suing her for libel/slander/defamation, since his defamation stemmed from her speaking and writing openly, and it's big enough to ruin his career/life/well-being (a libel or defamation lawsuit can only be processed if this qualification is met). Lady Gaga is now being dragged into this as a (subpoenaed) witness, because she has text messages on her phone sent by Kesha that Luke thinks will prove Kesha was specifically trying to defame him. Also, defamation is a legal term, it doesn't refer to being a celebrity. In this case, it just so happens to be with celebrities.

At this point he must have at least a modicum of awareness that neither he nor his career will ever recover from this.

He wants Kesha to suffer; he wants to degrade her as much as possible by dragging this out as long as humanly possible.

Remember when his representatives gave the statement that he essentially still owns her after she released Praying?! This is the kind of person we are talking about. Malicious, violent, a person that had the world and industry wrapped around his finger. Now he has nothing else to lose... And this is the easiest way to hurt her.

I know that there have been people that still sided with him up until now but if you look at the behaviour he has displayed throughout this it's clear that he has definitely a lot of violence in his heart. And I'm also 100% sure that Dr Luke and his team are completely aware that Gaga is a sexual assault survivor herself, which makes this situation even more reprehensible.

It must bother Luke that Kesha is on the verge of becoming more successful than she ever was with him.  He just wants part of the fortune she's about to make.  And imo Learn To Let Go is the biggest bop I've heard in a long time.  Just wait until people hear it on radio.

Gaga's rep has released a statement:

A representative for Lady Gaga released the following statement: "As Lady Gaga's legal team will present to the court, she has provided all of the relevant information in her possession and is at most an ancillary witness in this process. Dr. Luke's team is attempting to manipulate the truth and draw press attention to their case by exaggerating Lady Gaga's role and falsely accusing her of dodging reasonable requests."

This man makes me Ill. I hate him, and I'm not a person to hate (really ) but he is revolting. But why didn't Gaga just give the full texts without redaction if she has nothing to hide? 

Personally, I think it's because she is close to Kesha and so doesn't want to broadcast their relationship, and also broadcast her toil/ upset over the Luke Kesha ting.

there's literally nothing wrong in asking a friend to support you in a legal battle against an abuser

Kesha or Gaga did nothing wrong, and Luke is trying so hard to make other people seem "the monsters" of the situation
