I never said that it doesn't exist. Why is this always the assumption made whenever I talk about things like this? I say we handle race differently, I didn't say that it's destroyed racism. But it has kept it down. My mouth just fell open when I read your reply. You seem to have gone off in a completely different path and blown things way out of proportion. Nowhere did I say that it's just whites that suffer racism, I wouldn't say anything so ludicrous. I just think that any race can experience racism and that it's all equally as bad and I'm speaking up for the instances that get swept under the rug. Which is, you know, what black people are constantly telling white people to do - focus on the issues that we're told to pretend don't exist. Apparently, when you do the same for instances of white racism, you're trying to have a monopoly over who it happens to.

And I actually found your assessment of my country's history quite disrespectful, truth be told. Our past is shameful but so is any country's. White people did not invent slavery. The Arab Slave Trade in the 7th century, hundreds of years before the Atlantic Slave Trade, which involved African slaves to the Middle East, involving as many as 18 million Africans, much more than was ever taken by Europeans. The Barbary Slave Trade in Northern Africa even traded in white Europeans. Considering that blacks have never been close to a majority population in America, obviously not all of them owned slaves and we like to forget that some free blacks owned black slaves. Not only did 28% of free blacks in America own slaves, but they did so at a higher rate than whites (just 1.4% of white Americans owned slaves, even at its peak). Slavery has happened all over the world, in every culture, every dynasty, it's a part of human history. In fact, to this very day, some slavery still goes on in some parts of Africa. And if you want to talk about sexual slavery, that's even more prevalent worldwide. So, how you can blame it all on white Europeans and white people in general, is beyond insulting. Racism isn't over and it likely never will be but the least we could do is stop spreading false information about the origins of slavery and who's responsible for it.

You don't have to explain anything. I've had it explained to me many times. It's equally exhausting to write my responses. I've taken personal digs at you because I've felt attacked by some of the things that you've said. It's hard to find your viewpoints mature and grown up when you seem very limited in your beliefs and look at things a bit too simply. And then saying why should you continue talking to someone like me and that I'm not not worth your time and energy? You can't see how that is a personal, hurtful dig? I can't help it that I have a lot to say. I only write a lot when I have to, otherwise, the full extent of what I mean may be lost. And well, if I have receipts, I'm going to post them. Regardless, you're not going to agree. But maybe the post above this, in which I go into the origins of slavery, will at the very least leave you in doubt about the research I've done and the reality of the history.

We'll probably see each other someone here in the future. Although, I hope it's not about race next time. Hopefully, you might realise that I'm a much nicer person than you might perceived from this conversation.

The hypocrisy is real in Hip-hop  

It's funny how "black people" think they are the only authority to rap (and make all those racial/homophobic slurs), yet when a "white person" like Eminem or Bebe does it, it's not acceptable? Like i'm not with racism/homophobia in music at all, it's disgusting and I think they should just ban it for both races...so everyone can just shut up and celebrate music and the positive messages it contains, not the negative. 

Like why can't she do hip-hop? after all she writes the songs, she should be able to do whatever she wants...

I think people have misunderstood this to mean 'black people' are telling Bebe Rexha she can't sing hip hop. It was likely a studio executive at her label who doesn't think a white girl singing hip hop will be taken seriously or sell records (and he likely pushed her to do pop cause that'll make money). It's probably no different than film studios failing to believe women-led films can make large profits (like Wonder Woman), etc.

I agree with most of your points, I really don't think white women deal with AS MUCH racism as black women do, though. At least not in America. 

As a white woman I get discriminated on a daily basis, but it's just in different ways. Because I am a nice person people think I'm a pushover. Or because I'm a little shy they think I must be stupid when in fact I'm not, the valley girl stereotype is one that everyone associates with being a typical white girl in America, it's sad and frustrating... I think we can all agree that as humans we are an incredibly cruel race to each other.

Someone asked if she was white and I responded by saying she is from a European country, so naturally the answer boiled down to 'yes, she is.' She speaks of her Albanian heritage often, as both her parents are from there, so I think it's safe to say that she is racially white and ethnically Albanian. Lest we forget Albanians historically migrated from Turkey to Europe, so while white, they often have Middle Eastern or Asian features which can help explain why some people may question whether Bebe is white or not.

But the thing is that what she said isn't bad, it's just that she's changed her style completely and isn't exactly breaking down any barriers with the music she makes nowadays  

Before her makeover she made good music that didn't do well and now she makes generic trash that also doesn't do well. She will just be known as hat girl who writes songs for other artists which is a shame. I hope her music gets much better or at least matches what she says.

She literally sang the whole chorus of 'Hey Mama' which also happens to be the most memorable part of the song and they didn't credit her because it was too long for radio and TV to write 'David Guetta ft. Nicki Minaj, Afrojack & Bebe Rexha' so they apologised to her and only credited the first three. With 'The Monster' - the song was ready, but with different lyrics and when she sent it to her label for approval they said 'No' and gave it to Eminem only letting her sing the high-pitched 'Whoo whoo' just because Rihanna couldn't do it right.
