I mean, we have our own dumpster fire, but even then, it's simply not news. I don't think South America gets covered much at all; I don't remember seeing any news about, say, anything happening in Brazil recently either. Last thing I can think of that was on CNN was the mudslides in Peru, or the "peace" happening in Colombia between the government and the drug cartels. Everyone is obsessed with every new dumb thing a trump advisor says , every other dumb mistep of the trump administration etc etc. The only news network I have seent hat has been doing consistent reporting on the subject, and has had many headlines of the venezuela crisis is BBC news. As a latino myself I really hope you guys can get yourselves out of this messy situation! It makes me so sad to see your people suffer! There have been publications and articles on the subject on CNN and other world-news organizations, but American MSM will focus on the American issues, like our own failing executive branch, than other world events. I'm sure if Clinton was president, and scandel wasn't a daily occurrence at home, they'd cover a lot more foreign stories. One reason is because the US normally doesn't care about foreign affairs unless the US is involved or a major incident has happened. People can argue that all the media talks about is Trump too, but that actually isn't the case. That's why people need to invest in reading the news, reading subscription magazines, etc. Also, it's not the media's fault for Trump's team ****ing up every single day. I am super grateful tho because people all over the world are supporting us when we move to other countries and that's extremely nice. The US does care. I've seem demonstrations and media outlets supporting about Venezuela. However, there are many Americans don't care to seek education regarding world news. Americans don't even seek the facts in their own country. So are we all really surprised? haha Of course that's basically the case for a lot of people around the world, but still.
