Mythos 3,199
Metacritic: Melodrama - 91 Lust For Life - 84 (for now) I guess the mystery has been solved
Thomas P 18,479
LFL is great but I put it behind Melodrama, which I place in my top 3 of all time. I think LFL is my third fave behind Melodrama and Harry Styles self titled. But really i put it very high because this year has shaped up to be a great year in musoc (**** you BBH100 top10) I’m a simple guy to please, if you like Melodrama, we chill. Here's to getting ALT in 2017 if we are lucky Personally, idk yet. I have a few more anticipated records this year, but I do enjoy listening to this record more than Melodrama atm. Its funny, I actually wanted more upbeat from Lorde, and more down tempo from Lana, but Lana's mid tempo on this album to me is still really pleasant and we get a lot of different moods and vocals, so shes serving versatility. Lorde's album is beautiful, but I don't really love to listen to it unless its all at once or in some kind of order, sans Green Light + Perfect Places + Supercut unfortunately I expected a more balanced album sonically, even if everything on it is very cohesive and there are no duds. Critics love a concept album, and Melodrama does it well, but I just enjoy Lust for Life more. I still have only heard it in full 1nce then individual tracks spammed and havent heard it in lossless or even m4a/ itunes + yet So it still needs an "official" full listening in my book. Why would you miss out the best songs? I'm excited for LfL when I hear it later but I'm not expecting it to exceed Melodrama for me. I love judas SO MUCH but I canʹt look like a copycat of JLO!!!! BornSimon 4,818
Every single time a popular female artist releases an album this thread pops up. I'm waiting for "Is Lust For Life better than Joanne?" and "Is Lana a better songwriter than Gaga?" to come next.

I meant that I can listen to Green Lights, Perfect Places and Supercut on their own, but the other tracks on the album to me sound way better in context, so I want to listen to the record as a whole to get all of the emotional impact. GL, PP, and SC all sound very immediate to me, especially GL and PP. I can listen to like, HF/L, TL, WITD, Sober, etc. alone, but I usually just don't want to, even though they are all magnificent tracks. It's hardly a con, but 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから
NIghtmareElm 2,606
It falls behind Melodrama, Flower Boy, and DAMN. But it's in my top 5.
