Regardless of whether the ape is the exact character or not, it's irrelevant as the original movie had the same jacket. Whether it's the same character or an homage, it doesn't matter, the jacket is original content and was a part of the series long before BLM started. Like I got mad at some racist user who said stuff like: "assimiliation can't be used as an excuse now." when it comes to black women wearing weaves. "Black female bodies have been treated no differently from bodies of any other female." "If you don't want to get stereotyped, the first step is not to let yourself become a stereotype." when it came to me criticizing Iggy for throwing up gang signs, posing with guns and acting like a caricature of a black woman "twerking is mostly done like a really suggestive mating dance. Not something that is encouraged in day-to-day life if you want to be respected." when it came to me pointing out the origin of twerking. This wasn't just a one of situation either - this racist had been talking **** in every topic, had called POC sensitive, had said white people are victims because they can't say anything anymore. I had so much patience with her to begin with and was so unbelievably patient with her, I even kept giving her the benefit of the doubt so many times just so I could avoid her fragile ego from breaking at even the slightest criticism. Reassuring in every post that nobody was calling her a horrible, evil racist and just giving her so much leeway. Eventually, she kept playing the victim and kept just being insulting and racist (over multiple threads) that eventually I lost my cool and in one post (separate from the countless posts in which I managed to keep my cool completely) I became guilty of the crimes of: capitalizing some sentences swearing (Eg: "It's like every f*cking sentance from you drips with this unbelievable ignorance and arrogance") pointed out the discrimination I faced as a black man and posted this paragraph "HOW DARE YOU. Tell black women that they have no excuse for wearing weaves - HOW DARE YOU chastise them and tell them that the world won't treat them differently - you don't know their experience, so don't talk with such arrogance." within my post. As a result of this horrific outburst I was banned. For one post in which I lost my cool after pages and pages and threads upon threads of my being calm. TL;DR members here are mainly privileged white gays who are hypersensitive, don't know how to discuss racial issues and are lowkey racist and the mods here are the same. Sure, this could've been a sneaky way to target him, but there's no way we'll know. Side note. I've been getting really tired of DeRay. He's the type of person who goes after Bill Maher for saying the n-word, but not Bieber. And now he goes after this film for allegedly comparing black people and apes, and yet no one came after Bruno for his song "Gorilla". There will always be issues with the whole monkeys/blacks jokes. I won't tolerate that. But DeRay needs to start figuring out ways to make change for the black community instead of going after the wrong issues. @Lanius I get where you're coming from. Don't worry. You don't mean any harm. It's not your fault that you're extra precautious about these things. I think that a lot of people would be alarmed at this poster from first glance considering our current times. And it's not your fault that people can't nicely make a counter argument to your OP.
