Also were already set to peak in our lifetimes globally by 2050 as birth rates plummet and population ages... A balancing would be good rather than sharp declines. Africa is expected to be the only continent to post major pop growth over the next several decades with Japan and most of Europe posting the largest declines! We will probably live to see the day when global decline begins if trends dont change Also Europe is investing more on green energy and other environmental innitiatives than any other continent... U ask how this is a good thing? The fertility should decline slowly. Sharp declines will stagnate the economy. Birth rates in the middle east, Africa, and Asia are huge. ANd birth rates in Africa continue to skyrocket to dangerous levels. This is probably because of a need for labor in order to survive and lack of birth control methods. But a slower population increase is also key in getting an economy that grows at a fast pace in gdp per capita. It's also definitely possible to get low birth rates while being a very poor country - Bangladesh also managed to do that after all.
