I wanted to make my Italian parents from New York proud since I was 4

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

tbh she did get a lot of credit for that :poot: I've heard a lot of people saying they felt very represented.

Really? Then I'm glad. I don't keep up with a lot of pop news, so I'm glad that was discussed.

All I heard was praise (or criticism) of how she was completely non-political, how Beyoncè would have done it better, etc.

This is great and timeless and for everyone, and Lady Gaga and the team planned this very well. These are my thoughts: 1. Gaga brought in a patriotic entrance, in a time when America really needs it. And also, it's an American sport show after all (she's going for the American mass). 2. Gaga didn't put much "effects" on the show: those are drones in the beginning, not computer effects (knowing that she's really into anything futuristic/techno); the stage is simple, no visuals showing, no moving parts, only lights, focusing on the artist and the dancers; The piano, and keytar used is simple (considering how Gaga likes her instruments decorated); her (and her dancers) costumes are "simple", meaning it's not too much, and yet they make lasting impact (except for the gold jacket though, which is okay because she is showing here her Gaga side). And it's like when you see it, you know she wore it. The people with the changing light torches, in normal clothes, but they contribute a lot to the show (simple human formations). 3. Gaga made sure that the public remembers her music. She didn't put much effects on her music, not making it electronic, and used instruments mostly (many would enjoy it played in instruments). She brings in "Born This Way" , which tells what she is standing for. She gave us "Bad Romance" ending, which is her trademark song. She didn't break the momentum of the game with her continuous dance hits, it's energy flowing (dance song beginning and ending). 4. Gaga showed talent, fearlessness and unbelievable energy. She can do it on her own, no guests, which I respect because it's her moment (and her team's) and she can. While singing Million Reasons, you can see her gasping for air. She sang live (and sang very good, considering the...), and did choreography. She prepared for the show well, looking at her body, looking at her stunts. She showed us that she can play instruments (piano, a little keytar). 5. Gaga payed respect to the show. She knows how to make a show not entirely all about her. She follows a theme, that is based on where she is performing. This is football, so she gave ad libs like "this is where champions are made of"..and "superbowl 51!". In her finale, she dressed like a football player, she prepared well by catching the ball.. giving homage to the sport. I could be wrong but I think this is the only superbowl performance that paid too much homage for football, so far. She also payed respect to Texas, mentioning Houston in the beginning. 6. Gaga showed us all that she is human, and dreams do come true. Look how she gave another ad lib, saying "hey dad, hi mom". It's so hard for a performer to squeeze in unplanned moments during a super planned show. But she gave it a shot, because she felt that moment, she enjoyed it, and she's like "mom, dad, I did it. Thank you." She's an inspiration. She loves her fans, and she showed it by hugging one fan. I also like that she goes off the stage a few times, in the same level as with her supporters. Shows humility for me. 7. Gaga showed us Gaga. There are weird choreographies, the costumes of some dancers are unique, she jumped from the roof (not really, but I learned that she really wanted to during the live performance). The mic drop. The drones. The football catching. The make up. The evolved disco stick and phone props. And she showed us that she's a star (look at the star themed side stages). Dream come true Most Emmy-nominated SuperBowl Halftime show (so far). Lady Gaga
