Napoleon ABBAnaparte (also, fun fact, when the song was played during the Eurovision final in I think 1974, the musical director came out dressed as Napoleon)

Britney's Circus revived her caqreer, with Womanizer being one of her biggest hits.
It became her first #1 in the US since her debut single ten years earlier.

Crossing my fingers that the same thing will happen to Gags :selena:  6 years gone, 4 more to go

Nelly Furtado in 2006. After her 9 million selling debut album, her follow up only sold 3 million, less than 500k of which came from the US and none of the album's singles even charted there. It seemed she was about to fade away. But after she released Loose. Working with Timbaland, who was the hottest producer at the time, she had the most successful album, singles and tour of her career, including 2 Billboard #1's, a feat she'd never done or repeated since. It meant she had a place in pop history even if what came before and after didn't.

Britney in 2007. After her breakdown, she seemed to be done in every sense of the word back then. Some of us even thought she could be dead within a year. But unbelievably, she came back after 4 years with Blackout, which many Britney fans think of as one of her best albums if not the best. It gave her more hits and this provided the springboard for the even more successful Circus album immediately afterwards, which provided her first US #1 single in a decade. She even got another one with the single released off her greatest hits album the next year and the lead single off her next album did the same also. While her comeback didn't quite stretch to album sales and her singles started falling in relevancy, Britney has undoubtedly made some level of commercial success post-breakdown, getting 3 US #1's that she never had until then, having a decently successful tour and a multi-year Vegas residency.

And while she's not my favourite, there's no doubt that Beyonce's comeback from 4 to her self-titled surprise release and Lemonade will go down as one of the greatest comebacks in history. It seemed like her days as an album seller and top ten artist was done but little did we know.

Also, Justin Bieber. I still can't get over how he made his comeback. It should be a piece of scientific research.
