YeehawKylie 7,817
Important to note he claims Kesha is 'profiting' off the font, yet he profits over the 'outrage'. Hypocritical and standard SJW behavior. I fail to believe fonts can be appropriated, as they're primarily an aesthetic use. If Kesha wants to be inspired by Hindi or Buddhist religions, or even worship them, that's her business. Religions and fonts and languages aren't specifically meant for certain people. We live in a global society where a diverse group of people speak certain languages, worship certain Gods, and yes...even use certain fonts! Nothing to see here, he's doing this for attention. He realized Kesha was trending and saw an easy opportunity to nitpick for RTs and Likes.

And since you are at race, what do you think would they allow white girls to stay in schools dressed like this? And what about the kimonos and flower crowns which originally come from the Slavic folklore? *triggered and offended* Oh girl don't make me pull out pictures of successful people of color who are "using" other cultures for personal gain. Get your sh!t together. The globalization is what you call cultular appropriation. It's the action of international intergration of products, ideas, views and other aspects of culture. Of course when you implement something you won't go that deep. Otherwise she would not wear this shirt with this flower crown but also wear whole outfit that goes with it Because if you don't do it right and don't know the background behind it, it's offensive right? Every day feminism... stop believing these people they are poisoning your head with nonsenses. If you would step out from that bubble, you would see that outside America no one actually cares about it. People are not offended and they even like it because it shows that their culture is not fogotten and it's praised globally. Sorry, but how on Earth is wearing a meat dress even remotely comparable to black girls having their natural hair? I do agree that people shouldn't dip their toes in and out of other cultures without a true understanding of it. This isn't just a white issue - someone like Nicki Minaj can be criticised for her adoption of the bindi, for example. Globalization and cultural appropriation are not the same. Globalization would imply an equal understanding and acceptance of other cultures - but this is not what is happening. Did you try reading the articles that I linked, or did you simply continue to stay within your narrow mindset? I'm actually not American and I don't live in America, sorry to break it to you. It is a BIG issue and I've had quite a few discussions about it; one of my university modules actually included a week's work on cultural appropriation/appreciation and the issues around it. It isn't just an internet thing - it's something that's gaining a lot of traction. Let me ask - are you a white individual? Or a person of colour? Because if you are the former, then I'm afraid it isn't really your place to be saying that POC "like" it when their culture is appropriated. As a gay Asian male, I wouldn't try to define what constitutes as ableism, for example.

Dreadlocks are not natural hair. It's hairstyle and its origins are from Greece (white people). There are rules and dress codes in schools and work places. As long as your hair is tidy and not distracting you are fine. 22 minutes ago, britneyspears said: I do agree that people shouldn't dip their toes in and out of other cultures without a true understanding of it. Oh my God... one day you will wake up and regret all of this. 22 minutes ago, britneyspears said: This isn't just a white issue - someone like Nicki Minaj can be criticised for her adoption of the bindi, for example. Why should we criticize her??? Jesus...It's so stupid. Just because other race is using something from the other race it doesn't mean that they are mocking them. 22 minutes ago, britneyspears said: Globalization and cultural appropriation are not the same. Did you try reading the articles that I linked, or did you simply continue to stay within your narrow mindset? And what is happening exactly? If something is used then it means it's accepted. Or do you have some other tumblr explanation for that? Yes and I got diarrhea. The only narrow mindset is you here. I wouldn't even say narrow mindset. More like brainwashed. 22 minutes ago, britneyspears said: I'm actually not American and I don't live in America, sorry to break it to you. And if it will continue to be pushed, our future won't be that bright. 22 minutes ago, britneyspears said: Let me ask - are you a white individual? Or a person of colour? And just because my skin is white it doesn't make me unable to have my own opinion and speak my mind. My culture is also ''appropriated'' but I don't have problem with that. Imagine how pathetic you have to be to go from person to person and dictate what person can do /wear/eat because they might have something from your culture. Do you know how backwards and dangerous way of thinking is that. Learn to live your own life without getting offended by everything. + honey I am sure that you, as gay Asian male, wear new Zara or H&M collection right now and not your cultural clothes. Stop being hypocrite.
