I guess with each new Pokemon series they have to have some sort of gimmick in order to sell it (even though I think they don’t need to adopt this approach by now), and so it can give the anime series something to.
I’d be happy with just updating new mega evolutions of older Pokemon and new forms based on regions.
I’ll buy the game but it’s annoying to see what is basically upscaled 3DS graphics on a console that can handle so much more. I know it won’t change anytime soon as long as GF take the reigns. :noparty:

I'm so excited for the next few months  I'm gonna be finishing Ultra Moon over the next week or so and then over the next few months playing it now and then to train up Pokemon with competitive builds. I want to eventually have a bank of competitively viable Pokemon to battle online in SwSh or future games, I already have a bunch in X but I took a very long break clearly :toofunny: From Friday I'll be playing Hollow Knight so I'll see how long that lasts me, I'm quite a completionist though so I'll be milking it for all its worth and I've seen online how it's quite a big game actually so I'll have my work cut out for me :deadbanana:

There are so many other things that could be improved though and really cement each game as a big improvement. Maybe I'm obsessed but graphics is one, they could actually use the Switch's hardware to make a leap in the presentation of the Pokemon games and people would rush to the stores to get it and it would be such a milestone  Kinda how XY made their mark because of their presentation, it shook up the entire thing in the most positive way.

And yeah agreed, I know I'm getting the game because I like the adventures overall and the competitive battling system but there's always that negative feeling inside me knowing that there's so much untapped potential and so much is being held back :ohno:

There was a mess with the cartridge, they didn't fill it with all the game so people required to download some extra 2gb, so they postponed all the future shipments and the Europe release to fix that and to give the full game on the cartridge without any additional download..

Thank you for this :worship2: Sorry I'd forgotten to say it at the time :omg: Only a few days left now :woot:

Interesting they released a lite version but more interested to see how it sells - stats wise it’s a very basic version of the switch but at a good price point. It’s basically the new 3DS and towards that demographic. Why call it a Switch when it refers to how you can switch up how you play....

This... there is so much potential but sometimes it's like they don't give a damn about the fans, like giving us the Battle Frontier or just giving away Mythical/legendary Pokémon instead of making an in-game event or puzzle (like Deoxys in ORAS or the Regi's puzzle)

Also, when they introduce something very good (Battle Frontier, PSS, Mega Evolutions), they manage to screw it up the next time. However I must say, the introduction of Mega's did lead to a lot of people using the same Pokémon (Kangaskhan during XY for example)

I mean it was rumoured or we’d made guesses at an only handheld version for ages so I wasn’t shocked or surprised  It’s a nice option for people who have a schedule or lifestyle that makes them need handheld more while offering it at a cheaper price. Not a fan of the design though, it actually looks cheap :emma: I mean I know it’s meant to be a cheaper version anyway, but it just looks lacklustre to me

Personally it’s not for me, I mostly play mine in docked mode. I want a Switch Pro though, give me those better graphics and higher speeds  But still I’m fine with what I have anyway :laughga:

Another nail in the coffin for the 2DS(XL) though :udidnt:

There's a pro version??! :excited2:

The idea of the switch lite just seems underwhelming to me. eh.

OH HEY, some guy I started talking to online the other day bought a $70 credit for the nintendo eshop. What should I get? :classy:

No but loads of fans want one  It'd be the normal Switch we have but just juiced up (for me), so slightly better graphics (1080p locked) and constant frame rates or better frame rates anyway :laughga:

Ooooh nice :green: Which types of games are you into? There's so much to get and play :flutter:

Okay so they've revealed the first special edition of the Nintendo Switch Lite, it's for Pokemon Sword+Shield

It actually looks nice, I'd want joycons available in that colour scheme :cryga:

Crypt of the necrodancer+cadence of hyrule. Katamari Damacy is a ton of fun but I'd suggest checking the demo out before buying. The switch pro is purely speculation (highly likely soon tm tho)

@Bear Now that you've graduated, treat yourself with a Switch and join the family :green: They've released a new version of the Switch which is purely handheld as well - you have a current Nintendo handheld so maybe it's time to upgrade, or if you're not a home console gamer :poot: Don't know if that'll entice you more or not, the screen is 0.7" smaller but it's cheaper and has a longer battery life than the normal Switch:

Oooo I like what they've done. I guarantee I'd never plug it into a second screen so this seems like a good idea.

Do you reckon it would be harder to play stuff without being able to remove the joystick? :oprah: like do you guys play it often as a handheld/is it harder than removing the joysticks as a controller?

I play mine almost exclusively handheld except when I'm playing co-op with my brother. I can't think of a game besides ones that rely on co-op play (like 1-2 Switch)  that make you detach your joy cons, so get a Switch Lite and join our Nintencult :poot:
