Oh come on, man... That's such bull and propaganda. There will always be the few idiots in each party that make a stink about stuff. Don't play into that. You're better than that. Sure, there is actual racism in the Republican party though. You admitted to that. But of course not all Republicans are bad. Just like not all Dems are bad.... Why don't you call out Republicans? This is such a non issue. "Well that's wrong. They shouldn't feel entitled. Learning other languages is not very profitable in the US. We don't depend on other countries for tourism" Why not? Why does it matter to you? This is why some people go after people who tell others to "speak english". Of all problems, this is what gets to you? Learning a new language is actually very profitable. For example, it creates jobs. Again, why are other languages such a nuisance? Those people are why I will likely never vote for a Republican candidate It's more than just a few Democrats Huh? You can learn any language if you want. All I'm saying is the reason why not a lot of Americans know other languages is because it is not profitable enough to them. (and because our education system doesn't teach other languages at a young age lol) People can speak any language they want to in the US and no one should have a problem with that, those racists are wrong Other languages are not a nuisance, but if you can't read the white house website and you live in the US, that's your problem. All US citizens must know English if they expect to be fully integrated and functional in American society
Morphine Prince 109,682
Something in the article no one has discussed yet: "It has eliminated the position of director of Hispanic media outreach." They don't want to reach out to the Hispanic community. The entire administration is anti-immigrant, anti-Hispanic. At least this is how I feel as a Hispanic in the US. All US citizens must know English if they expect to be fully integrated and functional in American society So what are the Dems as a whole doing that is causing such an uproar in the US? Because I see this as a distraction/excuse. Languages are very profitable if individuals or groups use it right. It's basically why the world works. There's so many uses of language: interpreters, maintaining culture, business, teaching, etc. Again, no one is saying that people use the WH website's language options because they don't understand English. Maybe some.. But you have to realize that there's at least 35 million spanish speakers in the US and there's a good chance that Spanish just happens to be the language that they prefer to use at home/etc. Also, that number has risen around 233% since the 80s which makes it the second most spoken language in the US. Why is this such an issue? It's not affecting you, me or taxpayer dollars. Do you go up to people in public and tell them not to speak other languages? The point is that this is what unites us. And I'm sure conservatives would totally be onboard with doing that. It's literally the easiest thing to do. And if it keeps you up at night, then you should write a letter to the Dems in the congress to make English the official language and force everyone to only speak English. That would be a great idea. This is the admin that suggested building a wall, has zero empathy for undocumented immigrants, and protects a President who called out a federal judge for his Mexican heritage. As well as many other instances. Looking at you taco bowl..... People can argue about those dirty Dems and their distractions of calling out Republicans, but at least Dems have evidence. It's not hard at all to get a Spanish speaking translator even that quickly It shows at the minimum that Trump has no hopes or intentions of trying to win over Hispanic people now that he won. Furthermore, his instructions to ICE solidify his stance. 私自身もこの世の中も誰もかれもが, どんなに華やかな人生でも, どんなに悲惨な人生でも, いつかは変貌し, 破壊され、消滅してしまう. すべてがもともとこの世に存在しない一瞬の幻想なのだから

Odds are any country an American vacations in will have plenty of citizens that know English. The U.S. is one of the only super powers that doesn't think it's important to teach kids foreign languages The closest we have to that is a required (and half-assed) high school Spanish class where you'll learn to count and tell colors in Spanish then forget everything by the next school year. Imo, someone coming to the U.S. should learn English (or at least important phrases) purely for their own convince and no other reason. Unless you live in a place like Florida () where most things have Spanish available or in a place that borders Eastern Canada where French is often seen around. It depends really. This is a melting pot country full of people from all around the world who speak all kinds of languages. The pseudo-supremacist in the White House and his band of thieves and trolls can't change that and the least they could do is service ALL Americans, both foreign and native, by not forcing them to translate government pages themselves. Just put some temp agent on it and run it through Google Translate. It's literally the easiest thing to do and yet they're not doing it. And the reasons why are not that hard to guess Spoiler Have I ever mentioned how much I truly despise that man and just about everything he stands for? This^ is very important. Here in Florida, I've seen people using the pinpads to pay at the grocery store and such. They'll be conversing in English but they'll select the Spanish option on the pinpad because they're more fluent in that language and feel more secure using it for things like paying at the store. I'm sure that also extends to getting information about what your government is getting up to. Spoiler And yes, I do hear people complain about that option being there. "Why is this even a question? We live in America, of course I want English" Idiots It's a very, very minor "inconvenience" for you but it could be a life saver for someone else.
