Ooolong 4,440
I enjoy them personally. I think she definitely sounds harsher in the studio recordings than live performances, but I think it was intentionally done to sound more emotional and whatever the ****. She knows better than to sing like that in live performances though because she'd lose her voice pretty quickly. She didn't learn technique to not use it. TropicOfCANCER 6,292
i honestly dont even notice a difference in vocals. I mean, she literally screams and rasps on bad romance.
Cuchulainn 3,040
I wish the vocals were a bit softer in some songs, like PI, so that I could appreciate the instrumentals a bit more.
Eddie 2,518
13 minutes ago, Mirages said: Honestly, I think their refreshing. At the time she came out with the record I was really sick of all the autotuned bullshit music we get nowadays. I was so happy she decided to go without it and with pure raw emotional husky vocals. I agree with this What if tomorrow I see you again? Should I say that I used to love you?

Ashley 9,392
I love her vocals more on this album than any of the previous ones (besides maybe C2C).
Fernster7 7,922
Oh hell no, they are the reason why I love Joanne so much. The only song where I feel they don't work is on PI. Monsters never die.

theahsfan 13,822
Yeah I don't listen to it much casually because it's too raw
Emvee 8,369
I've always thought MR would have been bigger and more radio accessible if her vocals sounded like her live performances. The studio version is a little grating, but I've generally come to terms with that about Gaga's studio vocals. Idk what the hell it is. It's like she purposely overdoes it in the studio so that her live performances can be better or something
Miley 5,006
I honestly feel the opposite
gagasgrande 3,671
I honestly feel the same. I prefer listening to her vocals like on BTW and The Fame Monster because they don't sound as "raw" (not that I hate her raw vocals they're just a bit off putting to me)
juju 18,907
Her voice is giving us a hug on this record and I adore them ❤ x ❤
dancefreak 266
She has some of her best vocal performances on Joanne tbh. So no.
