koji 1,404
I agree, they both have similar motives behind it, right? I know they do. I'm just saying there are other ways to go about this. I'm not behind the people in the comments on that post saying "fags" and sh*t like that. THAT is very disrespectful as well. But the hell these men went through to raise the American flag is incomparable to struggles faced by the LGBT community. There is noway you can disagree with me on that. koji 1,404
And I'm not afraid to speak up on this site. I may not be apart of the LGBT community, but that's not important. I still stand behind them. Why else would I stan Gaga and have a gay best friend? I know I cannot be one of the only ones with a stance like this on this site. I think some people are afraid to speak up because we know how they can be and take it.

I don't agree that it's incomparable considering people have died for years in this country (and around the world) for being gay. They definitely struggled and fought to be where they are now. The fact that I'm not even a hunty though OT: Struggle is relative. War is different from thousands upon thousands of years persecution, but at the end of the day WWII- and America's involvement after Pearl Harbor- was about bringing an end to the Axis and the atrocities they had committed. If you learned about LBGTQ history, it's not that unfair of a comparison.
dit 46,738
Meh. Just another conservative snowflake trying to get offended at anything. The men are not disrespecting the flag and they are not comparing LGBTQ struggles to the marines struggles and even if they were...who cares? LGBTQ ppl did and STILL do face MASSIVE discrimination and get killed in droves world wide just for being themselves. Plus if you truly take offense to that comparison it probably means you've got hidden issues with or a dislike for the lgbtq community. This shouldn't offend any reasonable person who thinks logically.

Sorcerer 12,526
Uhm I respect the LGBT+ Community a lot, but I do not agree with this. If I was a son of one of those soldiers raising the flag in Iwo Jima, I would really be concerned. I know the sacrifices of the LGBT+ community, but I think not every event must be compared to each other. I just think that this is too much.
