At the end of the day I just feel like TC was a wasted single. Not that it was a bad song, but the song really did deserve more promo. Could you imagine if it were the lead for Joanne? It would've slayed. The fact that the song did as well as it has so far without any promo or a video says a lot. Maybe Gaga and team will take note and go back to that type of sound for LG6? I know it's music not the bling, but Gaga could use some chart acclaim along with all the other successes she's been getting.

Okay. Can I just say, I don't understand why people are so hammered about Gaga not promoting the song. Yes, it would have beenĀ fantasticĀ if she promoted the song, but at the same time, she was doing ASIBĀ andĀ it's just a buzz single.Ā

No EP or album is coming out of it, and I'm sure it was just a gift from her to us. She didn't need to heavily promote the song because she doesn't need to. Of course, it would be doing better if there was more promo, but at the same time, she's not going to put all her time and energy into a buzz single—A-YO is a different story because it was going to be the original second single.Ā

Honestly I think the Cure was primarily a tribute to Sonja. She wanted to cure her friend with her love but couldn't. Knowing she was getting worse I think inspired Gaga to write and release this song to give Sonja, herself and all their friends a boost of positive energy. I think it helped her deal with her grief and fulfilled that purpose and that was enough for her.

According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

You say "keep it nice" but then half of your theory is based on straight up rumors, false sources, misquotes, etc...Ā

The Cure is likely from the ASIB writing sessions. A lot of fans that were extras in the movie said there's a song she performs that sounds like a sexier, souped up version of The Cure. An EP for The CureĀ was likely never the goal. I also feel like radio was going to straight up ignore anything elseĀ from Joanne. The Cure blends in better with what's on radio, and has been able to sustain itself - I feel like Gaga probably knew this and purposely released it to give herself a little moreĀ momentum for the tour, and to bolster her chances of (possibly) getting more of a chance at airplay for another Joanne single later on.Ā

I agree. I think she just wanted the GP to get hype again for her music, and for JWT. I don't agree with what other people were saying that Interscope made her release it to get sales up. I think she decided to do this, but she doesn't really have a very strong emotional connection to it.

Honestly I think she made a song for Coachella and sent it to radio coz it was radio friendly, and that was it. Everything else around it was just fan expectation that blew up in their faces. She made no indication that this was the start of a new album cycle or that she would even be promoting it in the first place. She called it a "new single" because it was new and it was a single song. Just enjoy it as a treat for the fans and let it go. Her music doesn't have to be #1 for you to be happy.

If gaga our the business wanted a commercial hit they would've promoted it or something. I think gaga just released it cause of what was happening with her friend at the time. For those saying that it was to get radios to play her or build of hype for the tour or become more commercial she would have:

Promoted the cure

Released the more commercial singles of Joanne with heavy promo

Made Lg5 more radio friendly

She doesn't hate it. I remember reading some DJWS article in which he said the song and the lyrics wereĀ too good they had to put it outĀ

In these times it's nice to at least do something even if the song is just a buzz single. Gaga hasn't had a true hit since BTW if we're going to be honest.Ā

And my comments were mainly about the possibility of promo. I'm happy with what we got.Ā

I didn't expect an EP or album.
