exactly. Gaga's only shot at Oscar was in the music categories and now with so many musicals releasing next year in the same Oscar deadline,her chances are getting slimmer

She should have won for TIHTY. Too bad her name wasn't on the ballot. It was "The Hunting Ground" (???) vs. "James Bond 007" and that definitely hurt her chances since nominations are made by Academy members who are songwriters and composers (and they LOVED her), but the winners are chosen by the Academy membership as a whole (6000 members). It is known that they're lazy and don't even listen to the songs. They vote randomly because it's a minor category. It doesn't matter how hard you campaigned. That's why Sam Smith won (and it was a shock).

But, hey, whatever. The past is the past.
