I really think that Interscope pulled the plug because a new song might come. I mean they have seen that Z100 and Q102 are still supporting TC with Sub-Power and PR and they don't want that TC will interfere with a new song (if one gets released).

TC was the right move. It just didn't make quite the impact they thought/hoped.

Um who are you to say it didn't make the impact they hoped? You don't. 

It practically revived her career in some places around the world and gave her a cute hit in them where MR and Joanne had had no impact really at all.

So I'd say that yes it did make an impact they had hoped. Obviously it would have been nice to see it smash but it did well enough on its own considering the climate and circumstances.

Though The Cure could've done much better with promo + a music video, I'm pretty happy with its performance. 

Its certifications, sales, and SPS will all be decent in the end. It was a hit in Australia and the UK which were two markets she desperately needed to reclaim. As for the US, I honestly kind of love these slow crawls. It'll keep The Cure consistently on American radio for months. Million Reasons utilized this to achieve major success. Still so shook that it did over 1 million pure .

However, it would be nice if The Cure's peak reflected the platinum certification it will likely achieve.
