Amazing visuals and concept. We can diss her all we want but at the end of the day her and her team are on point and know what is visually pleasant almost EVERY time. (apart for Katy's awkward dancing and presence).

No need to hate yourself for saying the truth. We can't deny it anymore that Katy is light years ahead of Gaga in terms of visuals and strategy now a days. Gaga harbors a lot more raw talent but her visual game has literally dwindled immensely through out the years.

They will run out of budget at some point since the promo and videos are clearly not working  i don't think capitol is thrilled about wasting their money on these flopping singles tbh

also how is she ahead of Gaga in strategy when she can't sell neither her album, singles or tour?

that's because the music is "bad" and isn't clicking with ppl it seems. Strategy wise though she is doing everything a well executed era should have. Good visuals, smart strategic promo etc...it's just the music itself is not working for the GP. Had she paired this amount of promo and visuals with music ppl actually liked and toned down on her goof ball attitude then the music & tour would be selling. 

So the strategy is pretty darn spot on but the product (the music) itself is not what the public wants from Katy.

Her strategy hasn't changed since 2010 though. TV performances and music videos are not how hits are made anymore, they are simply grasping at straws at this point, if anything the way TC was handled at Spotify proved to be more effective than Katys 100 performances

Katy's strategy has actually evolved. She understands the importance of streaming which was something Gaga's team only got a hold of once TC was released. Katy did spotify deals, made mvs with repeat value and lyric videos you could actually follow and read off of etc...Her strategy is simply on point (for the most part and in comparison to Gaga's). The fact that Gaga's music is better received doesn't mean Katy strategy is bad. It just means her music is. Had Gaga's music had Katy's strategy it would be doing even better. It is impressive how Gaga is doing better with less effort for sure but the debate was mainly about who's strategy and visuals are better and for a while it's been Katy.

I don't think Katy's strategy is that good. Ed Sheeran, Bruno Mars, Taylor Swift, Rihanna know what it's good for them and they act according to that. That's being smart and having a good team. Katy is just doing a lot of random obnoxious stuff. 

And yes, you're right, Gaga's team/strategy is also terrible.

I'm not talking about what is outside of the music realm. Stuff like her interviews and her live stream where she is seen sleeping and doing weird daily routine is definitely off putting for a lot of ppl and made her seem obnoxious.

What I was mainly referring to was how she has handled her music. She literally gave her songs great visuals and tried pushing the songs on streaming services with spotify deals. She also performed her music a great deal. So the strategy and attention she gives her work is spot on. But because the music is not what the GP wants and because her persona has taken over and has irritated the GP her material is not being well received.

So essentially I am speaking about the "journey" not the "end result"...I'm not talking about if her music is selling or not. I'm just talking about the way she handles her music via great visuals, performances, streaming deals etc (which has been pretty great).

Yeah, I understand what you mean. I know she's doing the "right things". Good deals, "good videos", lots of performances. She's out there doing what you have to do. I get that. But it's disorganized.

Yes exactly! I do agree it could be better as there are moments where it is a bit disorganized.

I feel like the same happened to Gaga during the BTW era. You're doing what you have to do, but not in the right way. And you're doing too much. How is that a "good strategy"?

Basically. Both doing what a well strategized era should have but it is not very well received either due to over exposure (Gaga's BTW situation) or the material being promoted is not being well received (Katy's situation... hence the low sales in her case)
