Her debut album was huge in the US, and was certified 9X platinum in December 1999. I refuse to believe one of the biggest albums of the 90s and one of the biggest debut eras ever hasn't sold 1M+ in 18 years, not to mention RIAA now count streams and track equivalent sales (The album had 4 #1s ). She could be the only female (along with Shania Twain) to have 3 Diamond albums.

Isn't Whitney Houston about to have three albums too? "Whitney Houston", "Whitney", and "The Bodyguard"? "Whitney" has been certified at 9 million in 1995; other two have crossed the 10 million marks.

That won't ever happen, her debut was under Sony and they didn't split amicably. She was married to one of the CEOs and divorced him on the grounds of domestic abuse. They're holding back the certification out of spite.
