We dont have these uniforms at schools and unis, but two years ago I had an oral exam in july and it was around 40°C that day, so I wore those shorts, which werent too high, they were ending right at the middle of the knee. And the teacher had a meltdown when she saw me in it, how its inapropriate and shiz.

Well i guess you would prefer me fainting on the way to uni + i have seen female teachers wearing skirts and stuff so... A hairy male leg from knee to bottom wont kill no one.

There isn't in the UK, apart from in shops. It's the worst thing imaginable when it's 35c heatwave & like 90% humidity! Heat rises and being in a classroom at the top of the tower block was horrendous. The windows are barely allowed to open in case anyone jumps out as health & safety precautions

Some of you are mentioning bullying from wealthier kids, funny story: 

The wealthy will always be able to stand out. 

Back in middle school the "popular" kids would buy polo shirts and pants that were more expensive than the regular uniform ones but they were still not breaking the rules. 

Keep in mind this is middle school, so everyone is like 11-14.

Truthfully, as a man I'd be so tempted to wear a floaty dress at a wedding versus a tux in hot weather...

We have a school uniform, but we're allowed to wrar shorts on hot days.

I am so glad we have uniforms. It really makes students more equals.

That's not the case in the UK though, it's literally one set school uniform with particular colours etc & you could only buy it from a certain shop/the school here.

It's the same damn thing at my work.

As a male teacher, I HAVE to wear trousers the entire year even thou I live in ****in Rio de Janeiro where summer feels like hell. My female colleagues, instead, have the option to wear dresses and skirts whenever they like.

I loved my high school's uniforms a lot. First of all, they add value into the school spirit, and also save students from burden of thinking what they should wear that day at such a young age, and most importantly prevent any socio-economic discrimination between students.
