Robagaga 9,345
Ok so this is my personal opinion you might agree or disagree. Personally I have been loving the latest AGT season there have been great acts but I have one major beef. WHY ARE ALMOST ALL THE GOLDEN BUZZERS SINGERS. It is truly starting to irritate me. I understood why the deaf girl got it, It's crazy that she can sing that good despite being deaf, that is truly talent. Also her song was amazing. Spoiler The next singer is the ventriloquist girl. And that already started to irritate me a lil bit. But I guess you can still say she deserves it, she has a great voice and does something original with it, also ventriloquism is a dying art and it is crazy that someone so young is still dedicated to it. Spoiler Its the latest singer to get a golden buzzer that made me lose my marbles. He has a good voice but nothing extraordinary. Sure he is young sweet humble cute, seems like a nice kid and it is inspiring that a kid like that can get through bla bla bla. But is his talent truly up to par with the golden buzzer? Is it even up to par with other acts in americas got talent? The answer imo is no. Spoiler I just find it annoying cos there are so many other acts that were in my opinion so much better and required soooo much more talent and yet they didnt get the buzzer. Just like this magician, what he did was INSANE Spoiler Or this acrobat, imagine the amount of time spent training and rehearsing also his act was original and funny! He barely even got through! The judges found it too corny Spoiler In conclusion I am truly irritated by the complete lack of objectivity in my opinion from the judges It doesnt feel like america's got talent anymore, it feels like america's got good singers with emotional backgrounds or sob stories. That last kid didn't deserve the buzzer but got it just because he seems humble and kind and cute. Even if we are talking just about singers. I can give you many musical acts just this season that deserved the golden buzzer more than him. I know, its probably staged and everything but it is just irritating to me that what will get an act through isn't necessarily talent but the sob story that goes with it. What are your thoughts on this phenomenon? Do you agree? I would love to hear your opinions Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always. dit 46,518
I agree. I'm starting to get annoyed of that too. there are so many singing contests around the world. they should ban singing from AGT unless it is truly something miraculous like the amazing deaf girl. SlaeUrAnus 16,010
I never watch these talent shows anymore (I used to love BGT and X Factor). Too many sob stories and mediocre talent - not to mention 'fix' claims that seems to plague the British adaptations every season. In my messy era. Its them that pushed me to make this thread, i realized they were the first golden buzzer act no to be a singer. mess Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always. The Surrealist 27,470
Every show is staged (at least to a degree). I think the best platform so far is "The Voice" in terms of success and quality. Everything else is just cringeworthy in my opinion.

I CANT TAKE IT ANYMORE It is soooo irritating, its the last boy that really pissed me off His voice is super mediocre, he doesnt even have a sob story so they kind of fabricate one for him "humble 16 year old" "I'm nervous" Who isn't nervous???? "I've been singing for as long as I can remember" Awwwwwww beautiful awwww cute he said sir, that must mean he is humble awwwwwww poor thing he must get bullied soooo much We are never told that. He might get all the p***y at school no one knows. sorry for the rant lol Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always. This was always the case sadly. I like Arab's got talent, they almost have no singing, all goofy talents, fun to watch. I don't even understand why they allow singing acts. There's X Factor, The Voice, American Idol, all these shows, go audition there! chaeri pls
Teal Ambition 47,805
I couldn't agree MOREEEEE. I'm so tired of seeing singers on the show. There's already so many shows for that. It also irritates me that they spend more time telling sob stories than showing contestants ▌│█║▌║▌║ before I am Canadian, I am Chromatican ║▌║▌║█│▌

It wasnt thooo golden buzzers of season 9: Spoiler A karate comedy duo 2 sassy youtube stars that slay tbh emmanuel and phillip hudson golden buzzers of season 10 Spoiler The stuttering stand up comedian Drew Lynch, he had a sob story but at least he didnt sing An amazing dance duo: freckled sky 1 soul singer sharon irving 1 opera kid singer Arielle baril Piff the magic dragon a comedian magician A singing duo the craig lewis band Paul zerdin a ventriloquist Siro A a projection dance group So only 3 musical groups out of 8. Its bad but still the singers invasion isnt complete golden buzzers of season 11 Spoiler The singers invasion is truly starting 5 singers out of the 9 golden buzzers act So already more than half But I think this season will be the worst it is truly turning into a singing competition 3 out 4 golden buzzers are already singers. And one of those singers is truly mediocre to say the best Everyone you meet is fighting a battle you know nothing about. Be kind. Always.
donutellha 13,819
BC singers are an easy choice / would have a more solid career post-AGT if they don't have a Vegas show. It's all very methodical (EX: the stage that everyone sees is NOT the stage everyone goes on, they have to go through rounds and rounds for producers to choose who should get TV time) Walk down the runway but don't puke, it's okay. You just had 10 donuts today. Without frosting.
AlexanderMagno 10,746
It's television. I'm not from the USA, so correct me if I'm wrong, but American culture is all about television, pop, and so much about your shows try to rely on emotional stories. Never in my life would I be surprised that an American talent show highlights emotional, sad, life-changing backgrounds. Even your news channels look sensationalist
