I would love to know more of your thinking, but, I, as a Mexican and knowing full well in this country you find poberty in lots of areas, I empathise a little bit about yall over there on US or other countries when it comes to illegal immigrants. 

Yes they should be free to be wherever they want but they normally don't contribute to payment or tax, whatever your government stoles from yall, and I would feel angry knowing I have to pay others people debts when they increase any tax or wathever sh1t.

Not to far from where I live there are extremly poor people who STOLES electricity cables and connect them to the cables that runs electricity, just recently found out that since they dont fuking pay a thing, the workers citizens have to pay more in their light bills, the same with water in some zones, etc, which drives me mad because you can see some lazy fukers just there living their lives when other people are paying their bills.

So yeah, that video is heart wrecking but its the law, and that officer could of have acted in a better way.

I would absolutely LOVE a world without borders, buts thats never gonna happen in our lifetime nor in the next generation, its f*cked up.

This is what breeds criminals. Seeing your mother being dragged  from you like that by law enforcement is so traumatizing for a child. How is he ever going to feel safe or like he can trust the police that is supposed to protect him not hurt his mom and drag her like an animal. I understand the flip side to this of protecting borders and that "the law is the law" but there comes a point where being human and our inner humanity and empathy needs to look past certain laws that basically vilify ppl who just want a better life for their families. It costs hundreds and even thousands to get your paper work done legally. These ppl are extremly poor and running away from drug cartels and gangs ruining their neighbourhoods back home...if they stay they know their children will fall into that same trap. These mothers just want their kids to have a fair chance at a normal life. In Spain there are many illegals from sub saharan africa or north africa and though the intial feeling is of "dont come here illegally!!" you sit down and look at the bigger picture...and at the end of the say...we truly are all just humans. We need to help one another.

Man, this is something absolutely heartbreaking! Should she be taken away by immigration authorities due to her illegal status? Yep (according to the law). She did indeed break the law even if her intentions for economic opportunity, etc. were pure. 

 

So, what do I see from this? I think some permutation of the following policy should be implemented so stuff like this doesn't have to be like this:

 

Look, getting citizenship is VERY difficult. With that said, deporting illegal immigrants can be detrimental to the economies of many cities, especially sanctuary cities where many illegal immigrants spend money with high liquidity that helps stimulate the economy. The Government could (if the gov really wanted to) establish a certain window of time in which illegal immigrants could be voluntarily distributed green cards to work with no ramifications (I.e. Deportation, etc.) for doing so. Then, you would have those individuals logged into a database which would make sure they paid taxes and were working. This allows for families to potentially stay together and not be ripped apart like this video showcases. Plus, the gov now has the added potential revenue of taxes (although many would be in a low tax bracket) along with their continued contribution to the economy. 

 

Mindlessly deporting these mostly harmless individuals is stupid on so many levels (You listening Trump?). In addition, I could go on about how applying for citizenship should be easier, but I don't want to blow up this thread any more...

People really do not know the struggle. Not everyone has the same opportunity of coming over. It isn't as simple as applying for a visa and coming over. My mother's cousin has applied all her life and she's been rejected countless times. She's in her fifties now and sells burgers out of her own little stand in my mom's hometown in Mexico (they're bomb af, the best burger I've ever tasted). She's tired. And she accepted her reality. Most people don't accept it and cross, so they can live better. It also costs a lot to apply each time and they don't give you your money back even if they reject your application.

You think she can just "apply for citizenship"? My parents have been here for 14 years and they are still not citizens. 

Again, a mother will be willing to do anything for their child, and if that means breaking some rules, then so be it. We live in a world where we care more about the law than humanity, and while it's important to care about the law, we need to have compassion for others.

Visas, whatever, it's still not as easy as snapping your fingers and WOW! there's a Visa. Again, I feel like people with this kind of attitude towards these kinds of situations are dehumanizing the people, because if they were legal, you wouldn't have a problem wouldn't you?

We live in a world where people have to steal things to survive and do 'illegal' things just to get by or to provide for their kids. 

The Earth and the environment provide everything a human needs to survive for free. The only reason we have to pay for anything is because of a lovely thing we've been born into called capitalism. The upcoming generation has massively dismissed capitalism - if this trend continues, in a few decades we could see a kinder world where people don't need to do illegal things just to scrape by. 

I'm not saying there's a magic fix or that it will be easy, but the shortcomings of society ARE fixable if we come together and put our heads into it. Most of the problems we see today - like this video - are problems we created ourselves.

All my uncles and auts pay a lot of taxes and payments and they could be easily deported, that has nothing to do.

Just as there are bad immigrants so well there are americans who take advantage of the system and cause damage to the country 2.
