Why are you all underestimating The Fame?

I mean , why? This is Gaga's biggest album, she was the most popular superstar in that era but you just tend The Fame Monster was her biggest. This is like how people just tend to think Teenage Dream more than Prism was her best. Yes, Bad Romance got tons of views and might be possible to get 900 million next year but id you count all her sales, The Fame has 12 million more than The Fame Monster without The Fame alone. She also got a diamind hit, Gaga also made your favorite Summerboy, LoveGame and Paparazzi there. Just give me the receipts why some of you guys except The Fame fans/stans underestimating her. (Just let her rest with her sister ARTPOP while their brothers are at top.)

I'm like some kind of supernova

One of the best albums ever made. The Fame lives on to be a diamond certified legend.

Because half of it is nothing more than filler..... It truly is an album of really high highs and REALLY low lows.

Thank you!!!! People always put it at the bottom of Gaga's discography but it's an amazing album. Even the "bad" songs are at least fun and you can have a great time listening to them

I mean the first half is a pure gems while the rest are ok and are consider filler I mean the album doesn't it have a strong closer. Since TFM was an EP so there were less likely to be filler songs so each one stood out in its own right. I mean some of the production on The Fame was very 2000s pop so it felt just a tiny bit basic like Flo Rida was on Starstruck. All the songs have great lyrics but concept is just obvious it's either about fame, money, or love. The ones are singles are great because they have a slightly more complex meaning but even Just Dance is just about partying. Nothing wrong with that but now her albums are more thought out and aren't 1 dimensional. Well that's just my onion feel free to rebuttal or discuss.

I guess it comes down to a few factors

1) A lot of the songs are "fillers" (The magic seems to stop after the singles)

2) She's grown as an artist. A lot of lyrics and themes are more thought provoking on her later work.

3) The album has aged quicker than say The Fame Monster/Born This Way.

4) Generally overrated by the general public. I feel like this is why a lot of monsters appreciate her other albums, for example, ARTPOP, because it's the underdog of her discography.

5) And maybe a lot of us weren't stans back then, meaning we don't specifically have great memories from the era.
