I think she's doing this because it's personal to her. I mean, this tragedy happened at her show of all places. Not in Syria, Venezuela or Philippines.

But i completely get where you're coming from. We DO need some type of thing to help these other countries out too.

Unfortunately incidents of the sort aren't covered by the media and this song is currently gaining momentum because it's related to a musical event by a global phenomenon. Let's just hope the people in those countries in which incidents of the sort happen incessantly will be aided too.

She lost more than 5 million dollars because she cancelled the tour. The song itself gained more popularity after the incident because it was the last song the 22 victims of the Manchester attack sang it so why not use it as an opportunity to gain proceeds to donate it to Manchester?

Obviously they care and the charity concert they're doing tomorrow is an extremely good way to collect money. But trying to get a song to chart for promotion feels superficial

To be fair, they were donating proceeds from the 'One Last Time - Single' single since the day after of the attack, so technically this isn't proper new. :flop:

Not coming for OP though before he tries to assume I am.

...Sis I get what you mean but this isn't about those countries right now.

Except they aren't trying to get a song to chart? :emma:

This particular song is said to hold meaning to the attendees, and has a nice meaning itself. This is a good way to garner money for those affected. I doubt they'd get as much money if they just asked people to donate anyways, since people like to get something in return. You're trying to find something to complain about when there isn't.

“My Everything" (the album the song is included in) has been one of the first albums to get over 1 billion streams and it hit #13 on the hot 100 therefore it's still been popular after 2 years. Plus it gained momentum after the attack before Ariana Grande decided to donate to the people of Manchester. Other artists have used the “proceeds" tactic including Gaga with “Til It Happens to You" but unlike One Last Time, the revenue for that song was only a small percentage for sexual assault foundations.

Her label is doing this for promotion even if the actual outcome of it is for a good sake, you can't deny that. I'm not complaining, just pointing it out. Ariana has handled the whole situation extremely well overall and I have gotten so much more respect since

It kinda feels like her management/label is only using the situation for promotion :awkney: but anyways more money for the families affected by the attack so who cares

Promotion for a single that is 2.5 years old? :poot:

I don't particularly agree. I can't imagine they'd want to benefit or capitalize off such a tragedy, especially one that damaged the view of them, or least Ariana, to some of the public. But I respect your opinion and can see your perspective.

i think it is an easier way for the fans to donate rather than: "Oh guys, go to this page and fill all this information and donate something" people will find it more easy to just go on iTunes and buy a track. So no.
