She lost more than 5 million dollars because she cancelled the tour. The song itself gained more popularity after the incident because it was the last song the 22 victims of the Manchester attack sang it so why not use it as an opportunity to gain proceeds to donate it to Manchester?

It wasn't the last song they sang though.

I've heard so many people say that online well I stand corrected. It was their one last time singing the song so it's still special I guess.

I mean it's probably because of what happened at her concert :nails:

Stop trying to make this something bad UGH

On the contrary, I am as shocked as anyone that this tragedy happened. A terrible ending to what was a magical night for all of her fans in Manchester. And it's great that Ariana and friends are doing a benefit concert. But there are voices that need to be heard in this world that are not even able to even get out of their own homes without the fear of never returning. I want to put that in perspective.

If you want something bad about this, take a look at this article. 10,000 people faking information to get into this concert and people even reselling tickets. This is a shame..

Sis, no matter what she did she would have been criticized.

If she donated the money to Syria, she would have been bashed for ignoring the families who attended her concert. If she didn't do the concert, she would have been bashed for not doing anything.

God, the woman is just trying to do her best for something terrible that happened at her concert. Can we not agree that that is honorable?

Completely honorable of Ariana but I think I didn't myself clear, this is not against Ariana at all... it's about a big company like Apple that supports the Manchester attack with these donations but can't do the same for other countries...

Her label is doing this for promotion even if the actual outcome of it is for a good sake, you can't deny that. I'm not complaining, just pointing it out. Ariana has handled the whole situation extremely well overall and I have gotten so much more respect since

Artists promote in order for their music to be successful in which the end goal is ultimately financial gain, yet all of the proceeds of this song are going to the families victimised by this horrible tragedy. So yes, it is being promoted, but neither Ariana or her label will be directly benefiting from that promotion. That's a fact. It's so sad when positive things are done but people lump implications of greed onto it. You'd have more of a problem if they just stayed quiet about the whole thing.

Jesus can't you people just be satisfied if something nice is being done? Why do you have to make it seem like what is being done is almost wrong?

What about cancer? I mean why wouldn't she also donate proceedings to cancer research??!?!

What about domestic abuse?? Did she do anything about that?!?!

Why don't you yourself go and earn a couple millions then donate the proceedings to victims?

Quoting myself.... and adding that this thread is NOT about the concert itself, it's about a company donating money to a tragic event while other countries are left to fight their own everyday battles. Why can't they do the same?

Didn't the fans start buying the song to help ease the mood of the tradgedy?

The fans decided to use the song as a statement about the event hence it going into iTunes Top 10 the next day after the incident, before any talk of this re-release.. Stop hating.
