But it just seemed a bit off to me, how she was speaking to everyone. 

It's about finding the positives out of a bad event. It's important for the kids to remember that this was an extremely rare occurrence and they should continue to go to public events despite what happened to them.

Also, it works as a good ice breaker. You got to remember that these kids have next to nothing in common with the Queen of England but they share knowledge of the concert.

I'm very surprised she visited. It's unusual for her to make a visit like this so soon.

I'm surprised too but I think it's wonderful of her. Between this and Harry, William and Catherine's promotion of their mental health organisation, the royal family have been really impressing me this year. I hope they continue to be more actively involved with the GP.

Why on earth would she go into detail about a horrific, traumatic, scarring event that will probably stay with those children for the rest of their lives? Of COURSE she's going to talk about the concert and try to connect with the kids by talking about Ariana Grande. Her etiquette was perfect. She has been doing this her entire life and has been trained in how to approach these situations.

God bless ya ma'am, but I watch this and I just think how on earth can you be so blase about the fact, these are your citizens young girls involved in something traumatic as a terrorist attack and she's there asking if the concernt was any good?! Totally irrelevant me lady

It's the British way, stiff upper lip, keep calm and carry on etc.

You talk about your real emotions with your friends etc. but it's generally expected of you to make polite, light and friendly conversation with people you don't know well.

I never said she should go into details of the horrific event... but something more a long the lines of "how are you feeling? I'm so sorry this happened to you. You're incredibly brave and all of Britain is standing behind you" ... sort of thing. 

 

Anyway it doesn't matter. Those beautiful girls met the queen, are safe, and healing. That's all that matters
