Don't they pay women significantly less there though? I read in some cases it's a little over a half for the same type of work, and on top of that men get to enjoy an array of benefits women don't, such as free housing...

That money is better well spent combating terrorism that Saudi Arabia fostered and funded. I'm sure Saudi money funds a lot of American things but I wouldn't feel comfortable knowing they funded me. Like use that money on helping your own people.

My guess is no, but the government doesn't seem to go out of its way to promote equal pay, or, preferably, make it a law... Are there actually laws against unlawful docking of salaries there? I couldn't find an answer to that...

I dont know every detail about their inequalities. Obviously we all know women there are treated significantly as inferiors

 

However given that slowly they are going in the right direction... do they have to have full 100% equality before Saudi Arabia makes a donation like this?

 

Theyve made it clear they want women to take a more active role in workforce. And this fund relates to that

 

I just dont see the problem. Even Western developed Nations are not 100% equal either remember that

In the west that inequality is usually attributed to qualification or quota, not sex... 

I don't have a problem with the fact they have donated funds btw - that really depends on how that money is spent...

I do have an issue with people claiming they're trying to resolve work-force inequality though... If they indeed are moving in that direction - great, but as of right now, to me it sounds like exploitation more than anything else...

I dont disagree but i think this is the private sector more than the government

Women in business, means more people, more business = more $$$

so it's an investment, not equality/feminism from a Saudi point of view.
