Why are you guys trying so hard to pretend that the Joanne was a budgetless era? Yes Katy's era has been more expensive so far but that's because she just came off from a successful era with a $200M+ grossing tour. Of course she has more budget than Gaga. Will Katy's next album receive the same budget? Absolutely not. But that doesn't mean the label didn't invest on Gaga at all. All the promo and performances costed money. Even the discounts were used at the expense of the budget. MR sold a million copies but half of them were sold at half price, because Interscope wanted to focus on restoring her career in the long run and they believe in her potential, that's why they were willing to give up some of the short-term profit. And of course MR was pushed by the label. Again, it went from zero airplay on KIIS to power rotation back to zero airplay within 3 three weeks. "Coachella announcement effect" is not a thing. :madge:

Oh Lord. I give up. Joanne cost $0.00 to make. PI was shot in a sandbox and MR was shot in the backstage of a high school theatre.

Joanne promo bugdet was $0.00.

Also ticket bundles didn't help Rebel Heart at all, yet it was a sold out tour.

Yeah, I gave up explaining obvious things to people who clearly have no clue how it works or to people who love to bash other artist, this time Katy Perry, in order to make Gaga's underperformance of The Cure better looking. It's pointless.

I'm already saying that Joanne was a mid budget album to record and is obvious that a not much expensive to promote, not that the cost was 0, but you can misundestand me all that you want.

Bolded part: As have been discused days ago in this thread, Rebel heart did the album bundle when only a portion of all dates of the tour were on sale. When Madonna did the same having all dates on sale 50% of the first week sales were tourbundled.

At least you got something right. :lolga:

I think some people needs to see MR's video again (even if it's painful to see) and check how cheap it looks. Gaga is in bathrobe half of the MV :ladyhaha:

Madonna employed the concert ticket/album bundle offer again for Rebel Heart, but unlike the MDNA tour only a handful of the Rebel Heart Tour dates are on sale at the moment. Thus, sources say the Rebel Heart concert ticket/album offer has so far spurred less than 10,000 in sales.

But hey, the next time some people complain about how Gaga is a mess, hates promo and only does shitty videos and Interscope does nothing to promote her, I expect the people that are saying that Joanne promo was already high budget come here and defend ha.

You think the Japanese TV channel paid for Gaga and co.'s air tickets etc.? She went to Japan to promote her album. No promo is "free".

I highly doubt that airplane tickets is the expensive part of a promo tour. But obviously these costs are assumed by her team/label.
