orb1tx 128
I completely agree, she's not a very good actress, the movie doesn't sound that interesting and she should stick to making pop music which is what she does best!
sillynate 6,170
Months? Isn't filming for ASIB gonna be like 40 days or something?
NIghtmareElm 2,606
I'm sorry, I can't get excited for this movie. Her acting skills aren't that great unless she's in one of her own music videos, which she pretty much plays herself. On AHS, I could only see Lady Gaga on screen, not the character she was playing. Her Golden Globe win was a major shock and not in a good way.

She is now flying high on the positive press after her Superbowl and Coachella performances. She released a good pop song. She could be doing a pop album right now and focusing on rebuilding herself as a pop tour de force. Instead, she is stuck filming this movie for months and it messed up everything. She talked about not wanting to be distracted after the Oscars and how she likes to do one thing at a time, and yet she seems to be doing the same mistakes again. People don't care about Lady Gaga the actress. Can it happen here and there? Yeah, but there's time for that. This is a CRUCIAL time in her career where she has to focus on her main art and craft - MUSIC. And yet now she is nowhere to be seen filming this Bradley Cooper movie that will probably get panned and flop in 2018. I thought we left behind all these side-projects in the post-ARTPOP time (2014-2016). It's just sad to see her blow her shot like this. She's doing what she wants to do, end of story. She will have a huge tour coming up. Plus, there will be a soundtrack, new music, from the movie. She has a better chance of getting radio play off of the movie soundtrack than any of her studio albums right now.
crushedlemonice 1,346
Lucky for Gaga she doesn't listen to her fans for career advice.

Her Golden Globe win was a major shock and not in a good way. She's only been in a dozen or so AHS episodes, and they were mainly filmed in early 2015, we really don't know how her acting will pan out until after we see the movie. She's far from a bad actress, she's just not a professional. We as fans will likely always see her as Gaga, but my friend who watched Roanoke said she didn't even realize that Scathach was Gaga for the first few episodes. So is it ruining everythinjg? no, cos it isn't ruining her hopes and dreams. Maybe be a bit less selfish and realize that her career isn't here to make you feel good or that you're stanning the right person. Her career is here so she can fulfill herself. This was a fun, one-off track she made with DJWS, and released for the hell of it. ASIB is the priority. I should quote this post in every single thread on GGD, even the ones not related to Gaga. BangTheGong 310
This post is rude af. If the movie is a hit it can boost her music career, examples: Whitney Houston, Lindsay Lohan, Ana Kendricks, even J. Law scored a top 10 from the Hunger Games. The actual filming of the movie is done very fast because saying some lines can be very quick. As this isn't a CGI film with explosions, it can be made and shot easily. Don't act like it's going to take a year out of her life or anything. This is a great chance for Gaga. Plenty of singers get offered the lead role in a movie when they're a decade into their career. Gaga has already done well with C2C and that Sound of Music medley. And the Golden Globe win. This is all leading to better chances to expand on her career. Even if she stopped being successful with her music, she would still have other things to fall back on to keep her around. You've got to think about the opportunities this could bring. Bradley is well-respected by the academy. The film stands a big chance of getting nominated for something, especially in Best Song. Because Gaga will likely be the most recognisable name in that category if she does get nominated, she will likely win (also make up for her snub last time, which garnered so much controversy). If taking this time out of her singing could give her an Oscar, I'm down for it. So few pop singers get to win Oscars or even get a nomination. Even Madonna, Mariah and Beyonce have never been nominated for any Oscars, for acting or singing (you have to take part in writing the song to get nominated, so even though 2 of Madonna's songs got nominated, she personally didn't). If Gaga wins this, it'll increase her legacy more than it has already. What a coupe it would be to be leaving her first decade in the industry with an Oscar. And it might and nominated for and win a Grammy as well. I think anyone who believe her acting was bad was just a bit misunderstanding of the point of the role she played. She's supposed to be a vampire. She's a bitch, she's a *****, she's cold, she's calculating. That kind of role is designed to be played in a very emotionless way. She's this egomaniac person who only thinks about her own desires and won't fall in love. Such people are normally lacking in emotion because they don't deal with those pesky feelings that make someone human. She delivered all her lines the way a person like this would be. That scene where she says to her original mate "you were a pathetic addict dying on a filthy floor" with so many disdain, when she says being a vampire is "about the heartbreaks, the bigger, the better, I know better than any of us" with a wry smirk and when she purrs "it was the most erotic moment of my life" in reference to turning someone gave me goosebumps up both arms. I really believed she was this character. The problem is, a lot of people see someone playing a cold character and assume they can't act. Acting cold can give that impression. This, I think, is the reason why the role of the villain is rarely nominated and awarded. I find, more often than not, that the villains are some of the best actors in a movie and yet, they get paid dust when it comes to accolades. We're naturally more inclined to believe that someone who is playing a "warm" good character is better than the person playing a "cold" bad character. It's natural to want to root for the good guy and it's also natural to be disinclined to support a villain, believing praising such a character sends the wrong message. I hope Gaga's GG win can be the catalyst for more villains getting noted for their talents because it's about time. I thought Madonna did win an oscar (over Elton no less)?
