Wouldn't surprise me if these discriminatory bills were being pushed by straight, white, christian, men.

Coz screw the gays, the Muslims we held crusades against, and the religion Jesus actually belonged to right?

Coz who wants poor needy orphans to actually have parents and loving families? Coz if they're not exactly like us, they can't be good!

Life ain't Hollywood for any one of us.

Time to ban religion, it's really going out of control, everywhere in the world.

I wouldn't let a Christian, Jew or Muslim to adopt or naturally have a child so they can brainwash the little soul to believe in total bullshit.

Ridiculous, but what else is new :toofunny: I can't believe what is happening in the modern western world in the 21st century.

As for the debate about how religion should be taught to children, I think the best way I would want to do it is to not introduce any child into your own religion until they are old enough to have the decision making and reasoning skills needed to tackle such a big thing. Is it really faith if you never had the chance to find your spirituality on your own? Because for me, following something because you have always done it and finding beliefs through your own relationship with God are two different things.

That's just my opinion of course, everyone has the right to raise their child as they see best.

To add my to two cents onto the whole matter about whether religious people should be adopting kids and how that relates to this bill:

I feel like these days having the label of being part of a certain religion is a lot more about where you're from, your parents and your culture, it doesn't necessarily imply devout "Orthodox" faith etc.

That's why this bill is plain racist and homophobic, in my eyes.

(Although that's just my opinion, coming from a Catholic country where barely anyone truly practises the religion apart from the traditional ceremonies (Baptism, Communion, Confirmation, etc..))

How many people needs to be hurt in the name of ancient book character that never existed and will never be?

How much money are we going to waste on something that has no meaning, that doing nothing helpful? all the money that we are burning for religion we could spend it on education, science, the poor..

When people will realize it?

It's devastating and this is a fight of a few, because so many people are protecting religion and religious people so badly that people like me are "the bad ones".. meh.. the world is so cruel..

the tea is boiling my dear

And this is what I'm talking about, this soft hand that keep letting religion to take over our lives.

You can't say that and then complain that again, they hurt more and more people..

Would you let a person that speaks everyday with a magical unicorn that they can't see or speak to. worshiping it, praying for it and see it as the greatest thing in the world, to adopt a child? or would you send them to a psychiatric check?

The none existence of god is not a "view", I'm really tired of explaining this..

I agree that religion itself is a farce and that it really is the thing that destroys our society, but that's my view, and I will never ever impose my view onto someone else. If I do, or believe that I should then I will be a hypocrite for saying others shouldn't.

This ideology against "straight white rich men" needs to stop. A leader being white, rich or straight doesn't stop him from being a great leader. The fact that these men are rich, white and straight doesn't mean that all men like that are bad leaders, correlation =/= causation. Also, the obsession with the hatred on rich people, some people work for what they have....

I kinda really dislike how these days most actual resistance against bills like these are coming after "rich old white men" instead of actually targetting the actual problem. Trump's election was and is a prime example of people, probably unintentionally, derailing legitimate arguments to go off on old white people instead of actually disproving the actual theories he was spouting out. I really hate how Tumblr politics has now shifted into actual mainstream leftist belief.

We should be resisting laws like these with actual arguments about the ill effects this can have and there's plenty, but the right will continue to have their way for as long as the left keep alienating old white people (aka the majority of american voters). People don't tend to support the side that they feel victim to.

The current right wing trend sweeping the world is largely influenced by voters feeling increasingly disenfranchised and censored by the left.

This is worrying. Am I the only one who thinks that the world is going backwards? Maybe it is me, but I feel like kids are more racist and sexist now than 10 years ago. That is even reflected in today's music.

Only bad and worse news like this one show up every day... I can't remember the last time I saw an actual progressist move in American politics.

Even the rest of the world seems f*ckd up...

it has everything to do with it, rich white male leaders in history have caused wars, class division, genocide, have stripped gays of their rights, caused racial divides, murders, manufactured weapons that have the sole purpose of murder, caused Hiroshima, caused famine in the third world, invaded raped and pillaged native america, africa, asia, oceania, is causing religious divides, hatred of Latin Americans, hatred of African Americans, denies the existence of minorities, ignores Chechnya, ignored the Armenian Genocide, made black people slaves, tries to normalise sexual harassment, generalised cultural appropriation, colonialism and that's just things we know about that have factual basis to them, all of these happened under white heterosexual male leaders.

Also for the whole sentiment about rich people, that's purely based on capitalism which is a system in place to keep people born into money rich and to have those who aren't have to change their entire self and forget their roots, family and more in order to be rich. Even in the first world living and minimum wages aren't liveable. I've been on both sides and believe me it wasn't easy in times when we had the minimum and it's still not easy now when we have more than the minimum.

So I say this as honest and polite as i can... please shut the **** up.

@gagzus apologies for referring to you as "typical snowflake liberal"... you have your opinion and you're entitled to it.

I respectfully disagree with you.
