It's time for it to happen again but I need y'all's help My boss' friend moved to the U.S. from India when he was a kid but American music is basically foreign to him...I guess the rock he was living under was pretty thick 'cause he didn't even know who Gaga was until he heard my boss and I speaking so highly of herĀ In the most retro fashion, he asked me to rip a CD of Gaga's best songs so he could hear what all the hype is for himself. There's where I need help Ā I need a selection of songs (about 15) that showcase Gaga's versatility, vocals, and her honest to god talent at making exceptional music all while providing a nice flow from song to song so nothing is too jarring or off putting. Also, he listens to mainly traditional and modern Indian music...if that helps Here's what I was thinking Spoiler Aura Dancin' In Circles Venus ARTPOP Paparazzi Dope Angel Down Til It Happens to You Lush Life Nature Boy Joanne A-Yo YoĆ¼ and I Born This Way Bad Romance I think this list provides a nice flow, good diversity, and has quite a few songs that show Gaga singing about serious topics or just singing really well Ā Though I'm probably missing an opportunity to have Gaga introduce herself with BJā AF Ā I'll also, obviously, include a note explaining the meaning behind certain songs like Angel Down, Joanne, Dope, or Til It Happens to You...or just....all of them.Ā Can't leave out the context, ya know? It's something I'd show my dad or an older friend to get them to know Gaga's music without going through awkward or noisy songs that'd freak them out. It shows her vocals (C2C, Joanne, Ballads), her songwriting talent but also some of her catchy pop songs (Do What U Want, Bad Romance). I'd have included Marry The Night, GUY, Aura, Venus, ScheiĆe, HML, etc. but that's probably for a Vol. 2 if the person likes her catchy pop songs. Speechless Three and four are two of the best bops from TFM with great production and Speechless is the first ballad anyone should hear from Gaga. 6. Marry The Night 7. Born This Way 8. You & I 9. Edge Of Glory I think these four songs sum up the era pretty well. Of course they were all singles but they were chosen for a reason. 10. Applause 11.Ā Ā I Cant Give You Anything But Love 12. This way, he'll get to hear some of her best work that he can easily discuss with other people, as well as be intrigued enough to explore more into her work himself.
