Again again is awful, ew. Brown Eyes is far better.

We have two selves. One the world needs us to be, compliant, and the shadow. Ignore it and life is forever suffering.

Lou Reed wrote Brown Eyes for David Bowie, but he rejected it. Later Gags and Rob Fusari bought the rights to it and swapped out a few words here and there, but it's largely unchanged from the original demo.

Tbf there's a lot of conflicting around about this song in particular, but it seems to me like she just reinterpreted this one

I never knew about this. Could this be why Bowie allegedly didn't like Gaga?

Could be. We never got an official statement or anything, but I got the impression that he felt she was a little too inspired by his work in general + a tad reductive even :reductive:

Maybe he was jealous that she turned the lightning bolt symbol into an even more iconic look for her than it was for him. :reductive:

OT: I still like Brown Eyes more, even if Gaga didn't actually write it. Although I was going to come in here and say it was the most underrated song in her entire discography, now I'm not sure :madge:

Brown Eyes is unlistenable. I can see why Bowie rejected it

Gaga writtes a much smaller percentage of her work than her fan base often believes tbh

3/4 of people here genuinly believe she writes a good 80% of her material when realistically shes responsible for 50% to 60% at best.

Possibly it could be even less as we dont really know exactly behind the scenes when she collaborates with writtters how much comes from who. We only know what she says

Wtf why does she always go on about her song writing. What others songs did she not write?

"My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..."
