JiU 2,194
The closest thing in pop music to a new female singer to stay rn in Zara Larsson, and she's not exactly what you'd call revolutionary, and she's not really big in the States at all. Kinda sad tbh.
therian 254
Western pop culture will never be once it once was due to the influx of pop industries all around the world becoming popular and mainstream with the internet making it easy to access new artists more than ever. Peter Pan 138
The music is changing and evolving as time passes by. I personally like music from 2000s and early 2010s more, but oh well, at least we have youtube, spotify, deezer and more platforms where we can always listen to old music for nostalgia, it's more accessible now than in the past, which is good side of the internet. heygirl 842
the main scene of pop culture is getting boring because no significant change is happening... we're seeing the same artists from 10 years ago in the spotlight, because their management is obviously trying to keep them alive, but it gets tiring. I remember seeing a thread on here about how we're holding on to artists from years ago... and it's true, and the consequences of that is that we're subconsciously getting more and more bored of POP CULTURE. and when gaga for example in 2013 attempted to reinvent pop culture with ARTPOP, the gp weren't here for it because they're conservative af AND because of ARTPOP's catastrophic promo. idk but im disappointed at where music is going with lame lyrics about "love" and the same electronic choruses..  be kind guys
