The problem of the Joanne trilogy is that it gets boring in the middle, while during the ARTPOP film it just gets better and better :queenga: also I remember crying my heart out watching the video because it was clear how hurt she was about the betrayal of many people she thought were her friends when in reality they only cared about the money making machine she once was.

ARTPOP film has got it all..locations, looks, choreography, story. I don't understand why some people hate it :saladga:

This!

Especially the story! I felt kinda cheated when she said all Joanne videos would be connected, but it turned out only the first and last seconds would be the connection with barely any storyline unlike the good sis ARTPOP film:firega:

I don't agree with that at all, the ARTPOP film could dance circles (Joanne-pun intended) around all 3... Better editing, better choreo (or at least it had one), better staging... It had a narrative that held everything together well, and just... it was overall more pleasing to the eye - I love the colors, whoever color-keyed that thing did a fantastic job... I loved the designs, everything just... fits...

Also props for choosing a location that's more challenging to access - all in all to me it feels like a lot more effort was put into that video...

I agree with your opinion if you think of the whole Joanne trilogy, yeah, the connection between the videos is very forced and they don't look like a continuum at all. But if you are speaking of the videos individually, you can't say the things you said. Perfect Illusion had its concept and its message and it had a very good editing, same thing for John Wayne. The weak part of the piece is obviously Million Reasons :green:

I voted for the ARTPOP film, because it's more entertaining and interesting to watch compared to the MR video and PI too.

(But I still love Joanne)

trust is like a mirror, you can fix it if it's broken but you can still see the crack in that ************s reflection.

Still disagree - the non-stop camera shaking in Perfect Illusion got annoying really fast... As for John Wayne, fast cuts don't necessarily equate to good editing... Also those colors - whoever did that needs to take color theory...

I'll put it this way - I have screenshots from the ARTPOP film saved for painting references... I don't have screenshots from any other music videos saved for that... But by all means, if you like those two videos better, all the power to ya... It's still a no from me though...

It's a joke! When you give me that look, it's a joke!

The camera-shaking/fast cuts are there to match the vibe of the song, I can't imagine a video where things are slow in a song like Perfect Illusion, it's an audiovisual experience, a whole package

When they're done well - sure... It was not done well in PI though...

Joanne trilogy.

For me the ARTPOP film felt like Gaga trying too hard to be "Gaga", while Joanne trilogy feels raw, authentic and more mature in general.

And as far as the technical quality of the videos, editing and cinematography are taken into consideration, the ARTPOP film is pretty amateur and subpar compared with the rest of Gaga's MVs.

Even with bland MR, Joanne trilogy still takes the win for me.

I love ARTPOP but the film is just too cluttered. The story is great though.

I came into this thread expecting Joanne to win but ARTPOP is... :emma: and I'm not complaining. To see this fanbase appreciate ARTPOP is wonderful.
