I am seriously worrying about her, she seems a little unstable in this era

i think she have mental breakdown

shave her hair / under perform / flop 2nd single / broke up with orlando / when she promote bon appetit on truck she kind of feel off / cry on live

feel sorry for her

hope she can get over it

I'm not getting an unstable vibe just from her cracking a bad joke. She's always been like this. Her jokes usually come off as kind of dark, strange, and at times almost mean-spirited. I could be wrong, but I feel like people are projecting a sense unstableness on her because she's not as successful right now as she used to be, and think this is upsetting her mentally, but to me, she seems the same as she ever was.

I like her sense of humour, her jokes sound like something an old drunk (gay) uncle would say.

Well, I guess this would all sound funnier coming from someone like Leslie Jordan, but this ain't her forte tbh.

In a self destructive mode, sad to see. I guess all big artists hit that roadblock, it shouldn't be a total shock, it's happened to everyone except Taylor. She's next. Oh, maybe Adele but I adore her so she can't possibly flop :)

No offense to Katy but she reminds me of those girls in class who are very loud, obnoxious and aren't exactly...bright :air:

You know what I mean? Like I'm sure she's is smart and she's obviously talented but she isn't exactly charming.

Idk. But OT it was a simple joke and her being silly I don't get why this needs its own thread :/

wasnt obvious to me :lana:

Quote from the Daily Mail article:
"One Twitter user called Steph pointed out how the former POTUS has won two Grammy Awards for best spoken word album, while Katy (born Katheryn Hudson) is a 13-time loser." :trollga:

Steph? Stef? Stefani? GAGA?!  <- Kidding :toofunny:

Katy has "Artist. Activist. Conscious" on her twitter bio so I think she should be held to standards

I don't see comedian there   It was a lame joke and this is a lame controversy.

People are so dramatic. She always makes jokes like that. They are kind of dark or even to some standards insensitive at times. That's her sense of humor. She isn't having a breakdown, LOL.

Wow, people are going to town on the racial comparisons. It was clearly just a joke that had nothing to do with race. An awful one in bad taste but there is no way she meant it racially. She was just trying to draw comparisons to an event that has passed and that we should move on from. Using a Obama was a very obvious choice because there's been a lot of people on Twitter and suchlike saying stuff like #imissobama. But it was so unnecessarily rude to say that to the fan, she doesn't even know that they were an Obama supporter. And considering that she went to the wall for Hillary to support her in the latest election, why is she seemingly making fun of a fellow Democrat who she's supposed to like? That's the weirdest thing about it all. It's no wonder that people think she's on the verge of a breakdown. She's always had a weird sense of humour but now she's doing stuff that's a bit too weird, like cutting her hair shorter and shorter every month, making out-of-character songs and now seeming to diss the Democrats that she supported. This dip in success is clearly affecting her. Maybe not to breakdown levels but it's affecting her nevertheless.

The headlines :rip:

"Katy Perry sparks outrage after racially-insensitive hair comparison involving Barack Obama"

Good lord. This one wins the award for the most stupidest and hilarious headline of all time! If this was April 1st, I'd think it was a joke!

Well that was in poor taste. She's been kind of wreckless this era. Where's her manager? First the Britney head shaving remarks, this tacky joke and now old tweets resurface alleging Katy used the N word in reference to a black producer who asked her to stop. If this stuff gets more media traction it might put a huge nail in the coffin of her career. I can't say I'm surprised, that Nicki Swift video really showed that Katy has been insensitive her entire career and isn't as socially conscious as she's portrayed to be.
