I mean, she always sounds great on it

Gaga has never really been a "pop girl" tbh...she's always been a rockstar, and she's said that about herself before. I think that's why so many of us that aren't big pop fans LOVE her. Like she fits right in with all the amazing female rockstars vocally, attitude, stage presence, and such.

And just listen to almost all the live versions of her songs...they're all still definitely pop but she almost ALWAYS gives the live versions of her songs a rock edge with the guitars and such.

I would here for a rock album, with some killer power ballads on it too, but it'll probably never happen, especially with rock not being really en vogue right now (sad). Maybe one day as a more passion-oriented project, like Cheek to Cheek and Joanne. Seems now she's being pushed to do more basic, generic pop.

She's always had some rock edge to her, especially on BTW and Joanne (my two faves), so hopefully that doesn't disappear. She continues to "rocking up" her live performances (most recently Coachella), so I have hope she'll never lose that edge.

Speaking of rock, I would totally love for her to do some moody rock like this new artist K. Flay. This song is getting pretty big in alternative music.

I'm more here for a Siouxsie Sioux & the Banshees or Garbage-type sound from her if she ever does a rock album.

those are pretty good, although I agree that the melodic guitar part which mostly mimics the vocals is unnecessary.  It's like it started as guitar instrumentals and someone put Gaga's voice on top.  In real life bands it's like that annoying lead guitarist that keeps stomping on the vocals. :)

This remix proves why Gaga should do industrial metal.

If her releasing Joanne a pop-rock album that struggled to get a hit single and most fans and the public don't actually like the album because of her vocal styling and sound. A rock album would get her beyond nowhere, it would sell less than ARTPOP in reality and do nothing other than be seen as a tryhard way to impress hipsters.

If The Cure's success has proved anything it's that she needs to stick to the EDM with pop melodies umbrella, which she does perfectly, it's not exactly restricting since there's about 30 sub genres in EDM. Only uneducated people would think that EDM is only Dance music.

Nobody in this thread who wants her to do Rock cares about that stuff.  We just know how well she would do it and would love to hear her do it; chart success or fanbase expectations or the whether someone on ATRL or GGD thinks shes being "try-hard" are immaterial.

I'd be fine if she never did another commercial oriented pop album in her life.   Pop fans don't let her breathe free.

She wouldn't be allowed to even release it, tour it or anything because her label know they wouldn't profit & she can't sing rock btw she sounds like a dying cat onstage most times as it is and she still sounded like that singing What's Up and that Metal song with that random band at the GRAMMYs. But keep your hopes up I guess since it ain't ever gonna happen 💀

Metallica and Gaga, and Whats Up, both sound great.  And Gaga doesn't have to use a "rock voice" to sing Rock.  You mention tons of sub-genres of EDM, well Rock has even more sub-genres and many of them don't require Gaga impersonating Robert Plant as in the Led Zeppelin demo.

Exactly. Only someone "uneducated" would assume rock is just one sound. There's more than 30 sub genres of rock, some dating back to the turn of the 20th century and it's a genre that is honestly is more Gaga than any other. She definitely has the most passion for that genre.
