shoful 13,304
So what do you all think of the word, ARTPOP? What do you think of Gaga creating a word to title her album? Note: This has nothing to do with the music. I think this move to create a new word for your album is a pretty bold and daring move. I personally think the word has so much power! The word has a very unique aura. It sends vibrations through me when I say it. It feels good to say. "My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..." shame 25,360
I think ARTPOP was already a genre of music. Contemporary artists such as Lorde, Grimes and Florence and the Machine have experimented with it frequently. angels forever, forever angels

I'm pretty sure ARTPOP as a concept has been around for decades To me, the term means "boundless freedom" The freedom to express whatever you can, however you can. Creativity, love, bravery, affection, and passion. It can also mean confinement. Depression, anxiety, trauma, angst, and fear Truly, it can mean N-E-THING-AH You're stinky
shoful 13,304
@Moebius @TheShameMonster @PartySick You're all lying. Gaga invented ARTPOP. But seriously I didn't know that. Are there any articles of it being used prior to the album? "My name is Dita, I'll be your Mistress tonight..."

gagaisitalian 3,573
Hmm I wouldn't go as far to say she "created a word". It's just POP ART reversed. Coldplay had an album titled Mylo Xyloto and those were two words that were truly pulled out from the abyss and had absolutely no meaning. They mentioned in interviews that the words were to be whatever the fans wanted them to be. Very similar to Gaga saying her "ARTPOP could mean anything". I always found this similarity very funny. I stan both albums.
