When's An Era Over?

Twitter

Featured Posts

On a serious note: Since there's been several questions about this topic. And to help other fans understand. Is an era considered over.......

1. When the tour is completed?

2. When the lead single drops?

3. The grey (death of the era) wigs come?

4. When we experience next era fashion?

When the tour ends, which is why I don't get why people are saying the Joanne era is over

REALITY

Personally, I think that it's when the tour is completed.

Some people are overjoyed that the Joanne era is "over", but unless we have explicit confirmation that a new EP/album is coming out (or until it actually does come out) I don't consider Joanne over.

Spoiler

Before anyone asks, I don't count Cheek to Cheek as a full on "era" necessarily. I personally look at it as a side project that she really invested her time into.

Inb4 Gaga changes the tour name halfway through to "The Witching Hour Tour" and cancels the rest of Joanne era:fthis:

There doesn't seem to be clear cut ends to the eras.

They just seem to fade and reincarnate into one another.

The only era I'd call clear cut is probably the Cheek to Cheek era.

See I thought TF & C2C were clear cause the tour, singles, etc. were finished. Then the next era begins.

The tour ending is usually a good indicator. Too early to say with Joanne/The Cure since she still has the tour coming up.

I don't consider the Fame that clear actually. If you look at the Bad Romance music video, the Black outfit with the crown and glasses is very FameGa. Plus a lot of her wigs and such during the first few days of the tour looked like they were held over from the Fame era.

The Fame stopped abruptly with the death of The Fame Kills (ironically) and Gaga remastered the tour for the Fame Monster.

When a new single drops.

The Born This Way era started in February when Born This Way dropped, but the Monster Ball ended in like May.

If there is no single that releases during a tour, the end of the tour ends the era (like it did for ARTPOP, Born This Way and Cheek to Cheek)

Either:

- The end of a tour

- A new lead single drops

(whichever comes first)

although I don't know now because the next single has dropped before the tour even started :toofunny:
