How the **** is it possible she just came and dropped a trendy song that's better than EVERYTHING popular now? :rip:

Gaga is showing everyone what a GOOD POP song is again.

Tbh The Cure is so catchy and I can't stop listening to it. She completely OWNED this sound.

If this doesn't smash I will be SHOCKED. This is her chance to dominate streaming. She will be unstoppable.

I second that. She's a true force of Pop culture and music, and she's been proving all along this year despite any "criticism". I think it's safe to say that she's beyond any kind of debate on whether she's a Legend or not.

She's showing everyone she can do any genre flawlessly  and that certain radio trends don't have to be bad if done well. I'm happy for her

The verses are straight tropical house tho, then the chorus is pure pop realness. :firega:

The thing is that everyone who is against this sound also assumed that Gaga was against it, when she never even inferred such a thing. For all we know, she listens to "Closer" every night before she goes to bed. And yes, it's very 2017 sounding, but it has the classic Gaga chorus.

Been a long time but I'm back in town, and this time I'm not leaving without you

I will be so sad if this doesn't smash.

Generally, I do not care about the charts at all. My view is that Gaga doesn't serve the charts - she is too experimental to be confined to commercial acclaim. I am glad about that, too. It's why I love her. Some of her best songs would never be chart hits. Doesn't that say it all?

But for The Cure, it'll be kind bemusing if it doesn't do well. That's what would be worrying. It's literally what is in right now. If it doesn't do too well, I guess we know the music isn't the problem... it's the GPs appetite for Gaga that is.

If that's the case, at least Gaga and her team can have it confirmed that the GP will not let her smash anymore, and that they should just cut their ties with trying. From this, she can literally do whatever she wants - bound to nothing and bound to no one. She can release as experimental music as she wants and be as free as she desires. I mean, after C2C and Joanne, the monsters that are still here will be here for good. We'll back her through anything now, I believe.

Spoiler

Of course, I do want it to smash. But I'm just looking at it from a different angle... how this 'flopping' will also help her steer in a more focused and decisive direction.

We never thought she would do a trendy song in the middle of the Joanne era, and now we have to find excuses for Gaga following a trend :usrs:
