Yes, it goes with the current pop trend, but honestly, you guys wanted that "pure pop" record, and this is what we have. People complaining that it's "too mainstream" or that it's like "generic trash" need to sit the f*ck down because pop is what you wanted. This is as pop as you're getting. Why is the GP so important ? Urgh. Artistic integrity and happiness are worth much more than that. I thought she was on a very interesting path. Turns out the charts and success are more important. even to her fans, which is completely absurd. You just want to see her top the charts, what's the point ? I just hope she's happy with that. It definitely is very safe for Gaga, and sounds a bit like she's interested in building off the bit of love radio showed her again with Million Reasons. But it's a really sturdy pop record all the way around. The production is lush and pleasant, and definitely soars during the chorus, the hooks are there, and I looooove the 90's R&B tinge of the verses, which actually gives it that little bit of personality I basically demand of a Gaga song.
