You know there are like only 5 countries in the world rn which are communist? And France won't become a communist state over 5 years in any case. While some socialist leaning countries are doing extremely well like Norway, Sweden etc.

Mélenchon would win decisively against Le Pen and Fillon and lose 55-45 against Macron. There's enough space there for that to narrow down to 53-47 in the coming weeks, and eventually polling failure, a controversy or low turn-out from the centre-right could make it happen. The chances that Mélenchon becomes pres is bigger than Fillon or Le Pen. Macron is still doing good, but losing momentum.

It's gonna be something like Le Pen (26%), Macron (23%), Fillon (21%) and Mélenchon (17%). Hamon (9%) is going to flop worse than Perfect Illusion, and I'm glad. And then, at the second round, Macron is going to destroy Le Pen. It's gonna be something like 65VS35.

@Luc I know you're very interested in politics, so I'm SHOOK you believe this things. Media is just creating buzz and Mélenchon is controversial, so journalist are talking about him. I'd rather choke on my own vomit than having this horror of a guy presiding my neighbour nation. I know what I'm talking abour since this new far-left party Podemos is the cancer of our country. At least there's no far-right parties with representation in the Parliament or ANY of the 17 regional chambers.

I don't like any socialist-related politician, but I'm here for Macron since Fillon is like the French Berlusconi. Don't even gonna talk about Marine LePen.

We'll see. Trends are in favour of Mélenchon (he's going for 20%+ and at least third place unless controversy happens), Macron is still biggest contender. I'd personally be okay with either of them winning, as long as it's not Fillon or Le Pen.

Far-right: Le Pen (French equivalent of Trump). Party: National Front (Front National).

Center-right, right: Fillon. Party: Republican Party (Les Républicains). Everyone though he'd be elected president, but then these corruption scandals blew up and he's lost a lot of support, even from a lot of people from his own party.

Center: Macron. Party: none (former Socialist Party member).

Center-left: Hamon. Party: Socialist Party. (Parti Socialiste). Hollande's 5 years have been a disaster and he's going to flop. His results will be a disaster. (Every socialist/socialdemocratic party is collapsing all over Europe)

Far-left: Mélenchon (French equivalent of Alexis Tsipras). Party: Left Party (Parti de Gauche).

Marine Le Pen (far-right) and Mélenchon (far-left) are crazy and the candidates of the traditional parties (conservative party and socialist party) are a mess, so it looks like Macron (center) will win.

Yeah, we'll see. There's no  much more to discuss 

I just hope the new president, whoever he is, manages better France than Hollande did.  I've never seen someone so useless in my life.

Why do people really dislike Le Pen? When I watch all of the candidates' interviews, she's the most realistic instead of idealistic. She doesn't even come across as far-right at all. The media likes to blow things out of proportion. Someone like Hitler was far-right, but Trump, Le Pen, and Putin are just conservatives. They're not even as bad as Fidel Castro or Kim Jong Un, who were/are far-left.

She relies on some people's ignorance and the current widespread discontent due to the crisis. Even if she may look like the most realistic among the candidates, she tells so many lies. I mean, too many false numbers and false statements. I want to protect the EU at all costs. If France leaves or France collapses, the EU is done, since the project doesn't have sense without Germany, France, Italy, Spain or The Netherlands.

Because Le Pen makes suggestions like making education free for native French only, and of course her harsh anti-migration and anti-EU stance.

It's not. The Franco-German axis is becoming more and more important I'd say. They dominate the biggest soft power institution (the EU) in the world. They're now going to be the only EU member with nuclear weapons, and their military is on par with the UK's.

Unless you're talking about Africa/Mali/former colonies/etc because I honestly don't know anything about that.

If you take a look at newspapers, TV news, etc., media compares France situation with Italy's. Years ago, they compared France's stats to Germany's. That's a downgrade. French people are aware their country is not the dominant one in the Franco-German marriage (i support this axis as the EU engine, btw).

Germany is the heart of the EU, and everyone knows that. They're getting stronger and meanwhile France's influence in the Union has aweakened a bit. But anyway, same with Italy, Spain and every other member.
