It's not stability it's bad decision when it comes to economy, work policies and foreign policies with unecessary wars. And that's just how French people are. Moreover, it's a very harsh election this time. Half of the candidates wants to get out of EU wich is a no for many French people. The right-wing candidate is too conservative (compared to Sarkozy or Chirac) so people who usually vote center-right are not really into him (not to mention his issues with justice). The left-wing candidate has too many ideas that could be used by a candidate like Mélanchon. And that's why Macron is doing so good, he earned center-right, center and center-left, ballots

He can't do that much in five years anyways. What worries me is his stance on international politics.. being Chavez-friendly, moderately euroskeptic, against NATO, against Russian sanctions.. with Macron you know those things are all okay. I don't want socialists anymore though because there's a kind of laxism with socialists in France, and in the state we are right now we can't afford it. I was for socialism, but I realised that you have to vote differently according to the issues we have in the country and in the world. And to me Mélenchon, Hamon or Macron won't be effective in getting rid of radical islam in France or abroad, won't be effective in getting rid of unemployment since all they do is tax, and/or reduce the time of work (32 hours instead of 35 hours, for Macron he offers that businesses choose how many hours their employees work thinking that somehow it'll get rid of unemployment, how? It won't do anything, problem is with the taxes, businesses won't invest in France because there are no benefits from it, you pay more than you gain), Hamon wants to give universal revenue, how is it going to solve anything? People already don't work since when you're unemployed it's more beneficial than if you work, you work, you pay hella taxes, and in the end you end up with the same revenue than if you're unemployed, what's the point? Macron is okay with the burkini, which stems from Middle eastern culture and not Islam, now we all know (I think, or maybe most of you don't wanna admit cause it's controversial) that the burqa was created in the middle east as a misoginy type of rule, it's not islam, it's not religious why should the country accept it? "Everyone is allowed to wear whatever they want" yes the veil not the burqa, not a burkini cause it's not in the quran, it's a cultural clothing. How are these people going to help to make France better? There's no other choice than to go to the right wing party or extreme right, because if we don't (we meaning me and french people), this country is going to trash, literally. We on the verge of destruction, Europe is on the verge of destruction as well, how can people still wanna have hope and think there are benefits from this union? There are more problems than benefits and I can understand how young people want to keep it going but we gotta be realistic and realize it's not working, doesn't mean everything will be going to ****, our european countries were doing fine without the union it'll be doing fine without it. I don't understand the pessimism and the anger whenever someone is against Europe, I think it makes sense to leave, while at the same time I can understand a certain fear of the future, and the unknown. We'll see though

People already don't work since when you're unemployed it's more beneficial than if you work, you work, you pay hella taxes, and in the end you end up with the same revenue than if you're unemployed, what's the point? For the economy, I sort of agree with you. Unemployment is too high in France right now. That doesn't mean you should lower taxes, though! Remember that lower taxes means less money for healthcare, education, green energy, public facilities and social security. Lower taxes does not equal more economic growth. Universal income would fix the welfare problem, by the way. Right now, there's welfare options that pay better or almost as good as a job. With a universal income, you create incentive for those people to work, because instead of going from 1000€ welfare to 1200€ job (basically +200€), you go from 1000€ welfare to 1000+1200€ welfare+job. This will make working more attractive for people who are currently on welfare. That's not to say that a minimum income is risky and might cause high inflation and high debt.. But to lower unemployment in France, I think there's two options. One is a big stimulus (spending/investment) package, and another is market liberalisation. Stimulus package would lead to higher debt, market liberalisation would lead to higher inequality and might actually make most French people poorer. I don't know which one would be the best for France, but that's essentially the left-right divide. 17 minutes ago, kyanewest said: Macron is okay with the burkini, which stems from Middle eastern culture and not Islam, now we all know (I think, or maybe most of you don't wanna admit cause it's controversial) that the burqa was created in the middle east as a misoginy type of rule, it's not islam, it's not religious why should the country accept it? There's no other choice than to go to the right wing party or extreme right, because if we don't (we meaning me and french people), this country is going to trash, literally. As for burkinis and burqas: be honest - how many times do you see a burkini or burqa and how much does it directly affect you? Now think - how much does the economy, healthcare, education, euro and infrastructure directly affect you? I get that it's uncomfortable to see someone wear something like that, but it should not be a reason to vote for a side. There's so many important issues, and burqas/burkinis are only a minor one (and as far as I know, the president has no influence over burkinis in France - that's for local governments to decide). Now radical Islam is an important issue. I just don't see how a right-wing government would do more about radical islam than a left-wing government could. It's all talk. Their actual proposals don't really do anything good for safety. If you want to make sure people don't radicalize, you have to give them jobs and a good public atmosphere. Polarisation from Le Pen/Fillon isn't going to contribute to a better atmosphere, it might actually make more people radicalize. But then again, you're 100 times more likely to die from a car crash than from radical Islam.. 17 minutes ago, kyanewest said: We on the verge of destruction, Europe is on the verge of destruction as well, how can people still wanna have hope and think there are benefits from this union? We'll see though There's flaws with the EU, but leaving is not the solution. Instead you should vote for someone who wants to reform it from within. If you're against the system, remember that Fillon and Le Pen love the system and abuse it at every possible opportunity. Leaving the EU would lead to economic decline, especially because France is a Euro member. Let's also remember that before the EU, European countries were constantly at war. Millions and millions of people died because of wars between France and Germany. That could happen again if they became more independent. Another thing is (imo) that now we can see Brexit happen. We will soon see the true economic benefits of the EU. Leaving now would be a bad - it's way better to wait to see the results in the UK. If France left, it would be like testing whether a gun works on two people rather than just one.
