Oh my god my blood is boiling watching this video. Why is that man in the orange shirt smirking, as if this is something amusing? And that man with his phone out recording the victim being dragged. I understand not wanting to intervene and cause more commotion but its like they didn't mind this happening. The least people could do was say something. I don't understand this smh

That man smirking is disgusting. But wouldn't you be scared to stand up to that security guard if you knew the same could happen to you? The guy who recorded it IS the reason we're talking about it right now, had he not done so the media would never have known about what happened. And people did say something, you can hear very loud complaints in the videos

chaeri pls

I can't believe this (besides the assault) is legal. You bought a ticket but some of our crew 'need' to fly now, so we have the full right to drag you out of your seat, even when you fully paid for your ticket. Man that's ****ed up, it's probably some term hidden in the agreements before paying for your ticket.

I'm glad United got exposed tho. ****ing scum.

I hate that the three big American carriers oversell their flights. United had to get four 'must-ride' crew members to their destination, but this whole practice is just kind of sleezy. He was unluckily chosen as one of four passengers that needed to get off the flight through a 'random selection'.

Even if the airline reserves the right to kick people off the flight, security was way too violent.

That can't be legat. It's the airline's problem, if they f*cked that up. SO they should find a different way to get their crew members to their destination. Those four passengers paid for the ticket and also want to get to their destination and counted on getting transported by that flight

1. I don't think the guy in the orange shirt is "smirking". I think he is incredibly irritated that this is happening, is uncomfortable that it is happening right behind him, and also knows he is being filmed and is probably nervous of looking afraid or bothered. Sometimes, when something really outside of the norm is happening, people kind of just lock up emotionally and don't know how to react.

2. In situations like this, the only smart thing to do is film and provide evidence. This situation is horrible, but no one else should have risked their safety by stepping in. The woman screaming "this is not right" and "this is horrible" is demonstrating that really all they could do was verbalize disbelief. If anyone tried stopping the cops from getting the man off the plane, they are now breaking the law and can be arrested.

Don't act like the people on the plane are the enemies when it's just this **** airline and the horrible police force.

I agree it's a stupid practice. When airliners have 'must rides' they usually offer big incentives to get people off the plane. In this case they were offered $800 and a free hotel room.

If nobody filmed this incident, we wouldn't know about it! I can't believe this situation escalated this way. For starters, removing passengers who paid probably quite a bit for their seat is extremely unprofessional. Why should customers suffer for their own mistake? Secondly, these seats had to be available for United employees who had to get to Louisville to work on a flight the next day. Could United not have sent them in a car? Why should their own paying customers be inconvenienced?

This man was assaulted, and I hope he sues them for millions. He had every right to refuse to get off the plane!

United's response to this incident so far has been poor. 'Conduct our own detailed review of what happened',  Ahh, what more do you need to see? Boycott this airline!
