First thing to know before judging Gaga: do not take her lyrics too literally and too seriously. She has probably said worse in some TF/BTW songs

"Jezus iz a biskweeeet!" [Kenya Michaels]

Seriously, if he doesn't get metaphors he should really shut  up.

this is the state of grace, this is the worthwhile fight

Oh, how these people make fools of themselves and don't even realise. Out of all the artists who have genuinely problematic lyrics that need to be examined and called out, Gaga is not the one you should be focusing on. Anyone with a brain can see she's creating a metaphor. Singing: "I'm strung out on a cowboy," or "I'm strung out on an outlaw," doesn't flow well at all, so she came up with a particular cowboy image so that she could convey what she wanted to get across in a way that flowed well.

Some people just want to find problems in anything. I sometimes wonder how these people find the courage to leave the house because if they see such a sinister nature in things that quite obviously aren't, they must be walking on eggshells throughout their daily life.

Kermit the frog

How is this hypocritical? My god. We cannot expect anyone to be consistent with everything they do/say, ESPECIALLY when it comes to sexuality.

I didn't watch that youtube video but I've been saying that since the song came out. We all know Gaga is not homophobic and sexist, OBVIOUSLY. But she is an activist and she needs to think twice before associating herself with names like that 'cause it does go against her brand. Y'all remember pervy photographer and pedo R&B singer?

Lady Palutena

Popular? Not really. Destroys? That depends; one would have to value his opinion to even consider that notion. And as for the comments, well, they are more often than not a bunch of really miserable people who have no productive way to vent life's frustrations so they do so by being critical of others in the comment section on a video sharing website. Not worth my time to watch the video and not worth the energy it would take to read their meaningless replies.

However, it's a song and like many others have said, she's using John Wayne as a metaphor for a rebellious, wild man. I personally don't know who John Wayne is because he was waaaaay before my time but I've seen images and whatnot so, I kind of see it, though to be honest, he wasn't a looker but eh, different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Adoremus in caelum, Palutena. Dea luminis.
