THIs is so ****ing ridiculous it's just beyond me. Who gives a f*ck about protests man, and how can Pepsi bend to entitled brats who disagree with capitalism. No chill, no sense of humor, no freedom of expression, I hate this.

I understand where the negatives could be found, but Kendall literally stopped her photoshoot and took off her glam to join in the greater good as depicted in the ad. Isn't that what many people on GGD ask Gaga to do? There's a lot of finger pointing at the fact that a "white girl" solved racism and violence, but I think that's taking things to the extreme. We've seen many instances were peaceful demonstrations had demonstrations shake hands with police and engage in thoughtful conversations. Honestly, the ad isn't THAT bad. Yes, it would be different. See, the problem is that Kendall Jenner is in NO way in a position to feature in an ad like that. She never spoke about these issues, she never EVER got political so yes, it's a problem that she was chosen for this ad, as well as the "Oh look I'm so woke and concerned that I'm leaving my photoshoot and even take off my wig" thing that is cringe worthy. Finally, it's really distasteful to make such an advert to sell a ****ing product on behalf of social issues that make people suffer. I'm 100% sure Pepsi knew exactly what they were doing with this ad, you just can't release something like that without knowing about people's reactions. Any press is press, I guess !

On one hand I think that People should seriously stop taking a few tweets that some pressed ppl make as an "outrage"

But also...Its good that people have a platform where they can call out corporation that promotes sexist, racist or other inappropriate material and actually make a change. 

I just think we have to be careful with what fights we are taking. As I read on twitter. Dont let this distract u from whats going on in the world, especially in Syria the last few days.

I agree but in this case I can understand why people got pissed off, it would be like selling Dr.Pepper in the aftermath of 9/11, showing people in the streets showing support trying to find their loved ones, and then Claudia Shiffer shows up with a can of Dr.Pepper and when people drink it they can smile. It's not right, it's just not right, you can't use the pain, the injustice and the struggle of what it means to go on the street desperate for change to sell a soda filled with sugar. If they wanna show support, donate to charities, do something different but not like this, it wasn't right.

So every black person is out there demonstrating? That complicates the issue even more.

The fact is that Kendall is speaking out through this commercial. And like reality, we have seen this type of scene play out in real life (minus the Pepsi). Are white folks not allowed to stand up? We don't get equity without whites. And there needs to be a connection made. I don't think the commercial is perfect, but people are making such a fuss over something so trivial. Can we please go cry over real issues?

And it's hypocritical to only care about one ad. I have yet to hear the outrage over Dr. Pepper's "It's not for women" slogan for one of their products a few years ago if we're going to start up about everything..

Lol, it's hilarious because clearly, the only reason you would bring up that ad campaign is because you did hear about it because it did upset people.

Articles about people being upset are all that even pops up when you search it. 

 

What point are you trying to make? That people get upset when multibillion dollar companies make extremely poor decisions because the people making those decisions are out of touch with reality? Good point, everyone else thinks so too.
