ScottyGaGa 0
we found love will always be my favourite song. I fell in love with that beat, and it came out during a dark time in my life, and after it came out things got better. it will always be strong with me

Echo 326
Very much so. She's like the Diana Ross of this generation.
Disregard 50
No. If you ask 90 percent of people to tell you what they know about Rihanna 100% of them are going to cite the Chris Brown incident. No matter what she does in her career she will always be known for that above all else. The majority of the people could not name a Rihanna song, an the funniest thing is 99% of them could never name a Rihanna album. She's like the Diana Ross of this generation. Nobody can name any of the her songs?

Quark 7,085
I am not sure. For one, I think most of the people think of the chris brown incident rather then her music. Also, I think that almost of of Rihanna's singles are pretty forgetable in the long run. They sound like smashes when they are first released (that is why they are successful), in the long run people seem to easily forget about these songs. By your logic, a majority of people will only ever remember Gaga for her meat dress/egg-vessel entrance, etc. And what kind of flawed made up statistics lol. lazygaga 60
Yes! Her just are just as memorable and catchy as gaga's songs. Especially songs like umbrella, don't stop the music, we found love, diamonds, rude boy, iconic
Quark 7,085
I kind of agree with him though. Most people do think of the Chris Brown incident rather then the music when it comes to Rihanna. Also, most people I know can't name a Rihanna song, they may be able to recoginze them, but people can't name them. Like I already said, I think Rihanna songs are made for the moment and therefore are easily forgoten in the long run.     Wrong, just wrong. Once again you're confusing my opinions of others with your perceived notion that I am somehow putting Gaga on some higher pedestal. YES, Gaga is more known for her nonsense than her music. Who is even arguing this?

Like I already said, I think Rihanna songs are made for the moment and therefore are easily forgoten in the long run. But that's just your opinion and perception of these songs. The reality is Rihanna has a higher recognition for her songs than any other artist in the industry other than Katy Perry. Her continued radio power/ease of selling singles and having hits is evidence of that. The first thing I, and I'm sure countless others who are in the pop world, think of when I hear Rihanna is "We found love in a hopeless place"/"Na-na-na Come on" etc. Her music is much much more memorable than you are giving her credit for imo. Naming a song I think is irrelevant. Most people recognize Rah Rah part of Bad Romance but if these people didn't know the song was called Bad Romance, should that discredit Bad Romance's relevance as a song. Basically, many people can't name every single song, a majority of famous Beatles songs come to mind, but that doesn't mean that these songs aren't iconic.
