It had a lot of hype and everyone knew about it. I remember it being all over social media and no one was here for it. Everyone was eagerly awaiting a new dance pop killer bop. It could've taken off.. but didn't. We gotta stop blaming promo on everything gags gets wrong.
Toph 375
It honestly shouldn't have been the lead. Wtf was interscope thinking. How was this the safest choice from the album?

I feel like most of the GP didn't even have a clue Gaga was releasing something new to be honest. Exactly. Claiming it was overhype makes no sense, because people are only now just becoming aware of its existence, and that's due to the album's success as a whole. Bradley 59,063
I don't think the one element which should be compromised is quality. I think she is free to create whatever music she wants. The thing is if she wants her music to be successful, she has to promote it. It worked for the top 5 hit that is Million Reasons (albeit the video could have given a better boost if it was more visually attractive, don't get me wrong I ADORE the video we have but I was talking on promotional terms). I don't think the GP has anything against Gaga, it is Gaga who refuses to promote her music that resulted in this. Now that is her choice so I'm fine with it because the less time she spends in promotion, the more time she spends in her other projects like A Star Is Born which I am too excited for. Hmmm, radio stations were going nuts after the showcase she did, saying it was her bestest leading single since Bad Romance and that they couldn't stop humming the melody for days - and this went on for daayyyyzzzz before the release. Pink flamingos always fascinated me.
Psychic Guru 1,573
I really think this song will smash (maybe in 5/10 years) with a cover by someone or a remix. The song is just too good. Excellent songwriting and production.
Illuminati 15,921
If it wasn't so repetitive and she promoted it like a normal single it would have slayed. I'm still surprised by strongly divided opinions on the song, people either absolutely hate it or love it for how raw and unique it is.

badboymonsterx 541
the song is awful, this has nothing to do with promo.
Bio 23,538
Screaming "perfect illusion" multiple times at a mic for 3 minutes isn't something the GP will appreciate lol.
JupiterDrive 2,788
Indeed I miss the autotuned perfect illusion had just some annoying sound that's my thoughts as gp It's not always the promos fault people make it on top even without Maybe the GP has just had enough of her forgot her and think only of sad piano songs or jazz when thinking of new Gaga
